Course Curriculum Overview
Course should be taken as per ones preference only for me bcom hons suited as I wanted to do professional Course alongside. Also this is a very verstile course and have scope in various fields like finance, marketting, hr etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure at Maharaja Agrasen College is quite affordable, especially compared to private colleges. For my course, the yearly fee is roughly around ?16000, which includes tuition fees, university charges, library fees, development fees, and other compulsory charges. There is also a one-time caution deposit taken at the time of admission, which is refundable at the end of the course. Overall, the total fee for the complete course comes to around ?55,000, depending on minor yearly revisions. As far as I have observed, the fees do not increase drastically every year since it's government college .Any increase is minimal and usually aligned with University of Delhi guidelines. Students from reserved categories like SC/ST generally pay lower fees as per university norms, and some charges may be waived for them. They can even avail scholarships. Scholarships and financial aid options are available, such as Merit-cum-Means scholarships, Delhi Government scholarships, and National Scholarships for eligible students. Many students apply for these through the official portals, and they are helpful for those who need financial support. All the notification regarding same is provided by college on official mail. Overall, the college is quite budget-friendly, and the fee structure feels reasonable for a DU college.
Campus Life
There is a lot of exposure, be it competitions, sports, events, fest, internships, it just that you have to put yourself out there and it's all about the life you build outside the college so participate in extra curricular as much as possible and have exposure that this college actually gives.
Admission
I applied to private colleges as well and got accepted as well but the return on investment wasn't worth it on a undergraduate degree and it's not enough to get placed in a reputed company. For Delhi University, admission process is through CUET.
Faculty
The course structure follows the University of Delhi curriculum under NEP, which includes a mix of core subjects, electives, skill enhancement courses, and practical components. The syllabus is structured but requires self-study and consistency. Exams are conducted as per DU guidelines with internal assessments, assignments, presentations, and end-semester exams. The marking scheme is transparent, and scoring well depends on regular study, attendance, and internal performance. And the faculty members are good but may vary on course to course
Night Life
The college is closed at 6:30 so there is no after life although there are several cafes where student hangout for hot chocolate and coffee and momos. Hostel timings are till 9:00 P.M. The location is safe as there are several guards on duty and usually police vans around if there is any mishap
