Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course curriculum had been revised in this semester and honestly for good. It includes all the necessary 21st century skills and technologies like AI, CyberSecurity and IOT along with several interesting Core subjects in core branches. Irrelevant courses like Mechanical in IT have been removed which is honestly genius.

Placement Experience

4

DTU is very well known for its placements and internships. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Atlassian visit it several year with high CTCs. Students are eligible for oncampus interns from 3rd year onwards. The pfficial stats arent out so the total number of companies isnt sure. The highest last year was 85lpa offered by Atlassian while companies like Google offered 65lpa. They mostly recruited for SDE1 and the percentage is very fluctuating as it depends on the branch. Tech branches have really good numbers like 75-85% while for core engineering branches it is about 60%. I plan to work and gain some experience as SDE in a reputed company then MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid 2,47,700 inr for the first year and 2,68,700 in second year then 2,86,700 in third year and then finally 3,06,700 in fourth and final year. This is the total fees and out of it Tuition fees is 1,63,00 for first year and 84700 is the extra curricular, lab, alumni and examination component. For General, EWS, OBC this was the fees scheme while for SC and ST tuition fees is waived off so they will have to pay non-tuition component only. The scholarships available are NSP scheme which offer scholarships for reserved classes. Along with that there is E-District scholarship, Dell Aspire Scholarships and fee waivers offered by DTU for meritorius students every year.

Campus Life

5

DTU has a vibrant campus life which has various extracurricular societies, clubs and various fests take place. Although this year, frequency of fests have decreased due to some reason. As of societies, I am a part of Debating Society, Content Writing Society called Sahitya. Fests like Yuvaan, Aahvan, Engisfest take place in usually December-February frame. Library is technically and literary rich with all form of docs and books academic or non-academic come handy. It has a great architecture I must say.

Admission

I gave JEE mains and Advanced and qualified both. I applied to IITs and NITs, IIIT Delhi,DTU and NSUT. After all the filtering I was left with mid NITs, New IITs, IIITd DTU and NSUT. I wasnt getting CSE in NIT and IIT so I didnt prefer them. I was confirmed for IT in NSUT and CSAI in IIIT D and IT in DTU. But IIITD is a very expensive college so I didnt choose it. Narrowing down my choices I was left with NSUT and DTU after which I chose DTU because of its bigger brand value, proximity to my home and higher alumni network.

Faculty

4

Faculty student ratio is a bit messed due to high student intake, but approaching teachers individually is fruitful. Our Mathematics faculty is really good who is one of the few teachers we saw in the first sem, really into his subject and being a senior proffesor was a very enthusiastic teacher. A few teachers are there who wouldnt give marks if we write self formatted answers and will be marked only if you write fron their PPTs. Exams are moderate with two exams midsems and endsems held every semester. You need to score 21+ in the theory papers to pass and around 5-8% of students may get backs in these. Course structure is very relevant and has courses related to 21st century skills like AI, Cybersecurity etc.

Interview Experience

3

No there were no GDs or Interviews for Btech admissions. But There will be Interviews for admissions into streams in which admissions are through CUET. Like for BS-MS, BBA, BDes and MBA. For Btech we just needed to give JEE Mains and pass it with a decent rank.

Night Life

3

I am a Day Scholar so I may not be the one to perfectly describe the nightlife. But there are many places to hangout. Be it OAT and Clock tower, the iconic monument signifying DTU. Then we have Sports complex, Lush greenry, Parks throughout the campus. There are enough places to hangout. Hostel timings I dont really know much. There is an open Gym, Various food plazas and canteens like Deltech, Hims, Dosa Plaza, Raj Soin etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as **fairly comprehensive and reasonably relevant**, especially in terms of building a strong foundation in core engineering concepts. One of the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course was the **structured curriculum covering important fundamentals such as programming, data structures, mathematics, and core engineering subjects**, which are essential for both technical roles and higher studies. The curriculum provides a solid theoretical base and helps develop analytical thinking, but for real-world applications students often need to complement it with **projects, internships, coding practice, and self-learning**, since some topics are still taught in a more traditional or theoretical way. In terms of improvements, the curriculum could benefit from **more industry-oriented electives, practical assignments, updated lab work, and interactive teaching methods such as case studies or project-based learning**. The exam system typically includes **two major exams per semester — a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam — along with internal assessments, quizzes, and assignments**. The exams are generally **moderate in difficulty**, and students who attend classes and prepare consistently are able to perform well, though the evaluation tends to focus more on conceptual understanding and written exams rather than purely practical skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really liked physics and applications of physics so chose mechanical engineering, as ut has a lot of application of physics directly can really see how things work not just ideally but actually Curriculum is really good besides getting assignments which noone takes seriously everyone just copies , there must be much more practical stuff so that everyone learns but we do get that in tech teams but not directly as a student in college. There must be practical teachings and proper guidance proper high level machineary must be there, industry visits must be there and internships in such companies must be encouraged There are 5 exams of 1.5 hour considered as mid sems and 6 exams of 3 hours considered as endsems

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
