Course Curriculum Overview

4

i would rate the course curriculum at graphic era hill university as highly relevent and fairly comprehensive because it include all the essential subjects like data structures ,operating system , database management systems etc.the combinatiin of both practical abd theory subject can help student to gain real word knowledge and can also achieve technical skills, the curriculum could be improve by adding more hands on industry projects , live workshop and update elective options that focus on current technologies ,exam frequency is well structured with one mid semester and one end semester , the exams are moderately difficult .

Fees and Financial Aid

the year wise fee is 250000 , my total tuition fee is 4,07,976 ,scholarship discount is 1 lakh and with other sibling discount and domicile disccount also add up so my batchmates fee is also same as me 250000, my sibling discount is 7.5% =10198

Campus Life

5

my overall campus life experience at graphic era hill university has been very positive , especially in terms of social infrastructure provided the campus stays active throught out the year with annual events like grapho and cultural fests usually held around march april along with technical fest and hackathons conducted by diffrent departments the library is well -stocked with a wide range of textbooks , reference books, previous year papers ,digital resources and online journals ,making it accessible for both academics and competitive exam preparations , classrooms are equiped with smart boards, projectors, good wifi and comfortable seating ,which makes learning more engaging , the campus also offers a wide variety of sports and exta curricular facilities ,including cricket ,football, badmintons ,gym ,dance, drama, photography and coding clubs .

Admission

i applied to the few colleges in uttrakhand and nearby states for btech, included options like upes , dit and some government colleges, i ultimately choose graphic era hill university because the curriculum felt more updated ., the campus environment was better suited to my learnig style , and the overall placement support for engineering was stronger The some colleges i applied to had higher fees or less flexibility in scolarships, while others had limited branches or less modern infrastructure . i didnt face any major rejections but i couldnt join some colleges due to higher cut offs or seat unavailability in my preferref branch dusing the counseling round , the admission process at gehu was very straightforward students are selected based on 12th marks or jee main courses and the cutoffs very depending on the branch and the dmand that year , after eligibility verification and document submission , the admission letter is issued and fee payment is done in steps , my overall experience with admission process was smooth and quick and the couseling team guided me well regarding branch selection and scholarchio options which made my decision easier .

the faculty at graphic era hill university is generally knowledgable ,approachable and supportive, with a good faculty to student ratio that insure student get proper attention during both theory and ;lab classes .most teacher explain concepts clearly and are helpful during doubts, though a few can be strict with attendance and internal marks. the btech carriculum is well structured ,updated regularly and include regular subject like ai/ml, dsa ,dbms and lab practicals that help build strong technical skills ,the exam system consist one mid semester test and one end semester test with internal assessments bases on assignment ,labs and attendance ,overall the exam is moderately difficult-easy,the marking scheme is fair and very few students fail unless they have less attendance or incomplete submissions

Since CSW students as in UPES School of Computer Science students are 1200+, I think 60 percent students do get placements. Now the criteria is that students get a strong bandwith in placements that it is not at all easy to become a part of placements as students carrying back in 3rd year are not allowed to appear for any job interview at the university.

UPES students have to be ready in the last year as both the semester placements activities keeps on having its toll. Also, a student qualified for a placement can only appear for the interview on the companies that are offering a 2x paycheck as otherwise once the placements are done means done at UPES.

UPES has seen placements in range of 50 lakhs and more and that because of the stupendous tie-ups that our placement cell has seen. Our CSE entries batch size is of 1200 and out of which 600 were placed with an average salary of 18 lakhs and now one can debate if any other college in Uttarakhand apart from IIT Roorkee provide such placements.

Placement Experience:

Being an IIT, the campus placements are pretty good. Over 90% of the batch gets placed, with a median of 20LPA. All major tech, financial and management companies come for placements. Highest package generally goes up to 2 crores each year, though this is an international offer. The highest domestic package is around 80LPA. These offers are generally for the quant offered by HFTs (High frequency trading), which refers to quantitative analysis in stock trading. The placement season is in first sem of 4th year, and if you have a good resume with 8+ CGPA, you are all set to go. I plan on sitting for AI-ML placements.
