Course Curriculum Overview

3

In terms of relevance the course , I don't think the subjects are that relevant except programming fundamentals and maths , as the other subjects would not help you much if you are preparing for tech jobs , you have to prepare for placement on your own.

Internships Opportunities

3

For internship very less companies come with only 200 people getting on campus internship opportunities List of companies : microsoft, google, uber , de shaw, texas instruments, mastercard, visa, adobe etc

Placement Experience

4

For on campus placement the process begins at the starting of 7th semester, where companies of tech , non tech and core comes, Most of the companies are hire for tech jobs for example Google, microsoft, amazon, Salesforce, atlassain , etc The highest package this year is around 82 lakhs given by atlassain amd average packege for CSE is around 20 lakhs . Since the batch size in quite large , the placement percentage is on the lower side like 50-60 percent, But for CSE , IT,SE,MNC the placement percentage is around 80 percent

Fees and Financial Aid

So for my first year I paid around 2,52,000 of tution fees only , also the fees will increase 10 percent every year hence, my total btech tution fees would be around 11 lakhs. Not many scholarship are available for general candidate other than merit scholarship where people with the highest CGPA are given 10,000

Campus Life

3

The annual cultural fest is ENGIFEST and sports fest in yuvaan Sports facilities offered is badminton, tennis , football, lawn tennis , table tennis , and athletics There are lot of student run portal like one is free sources where all the resources are provided for colleges exam preparation

Admission

The admission process of DTU for B.Tech is through Delhi JAC counseling after the entrance result. Must have passed Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics Minimum 60% aggregate (varies slightly for reserved categories) Mandatory qualification of JEE Main Most preferred exam among students Again, JEE Main, since it is the only gateway for B.Tech seats in DTU, NSUT, and IGDTUW under JAC. Software/IT/CS – 99+ percentile (most demanded) ECE/EE/Mechanical – 96.5–98.5 percentile Civil/Production/Environmental – 95 percentile DTU counseling was rank-based and transparent, but lengthy due to multiple rounds + seat freezing and sliding options. The overall experience felt fair, organized, and smooth, especially the branch upgradation (sliding) rounds which gave me better control over seat choices.

Faculty

3

For your first year every student studies the subject of other branches so the faculty of that department teaches particular subject. For example in my branch in 1st sem I am studying mathematics, programming fundamentals, computer aided engineering graphics, basics of civil engineering and a elective of your choice During a semester you have mainly two exams : one is mid semester examination and other is endsem examination, and before endsems you have practical examinations of some subjects in which an external would come for the evaluation. Till now I have not really connected with most of the faculty as I do not understand their teaching style , so I prefer to study online

Night Life

4

At DTU, students unwind mainly through gym sessions at the DTU Gym Complex, evening chai and ice-cream chats at the DTU Food Court, and group study circles before the DTU Central Library closes around 10 PM. Hostels like the DTU Hostels are active at night for discussions and project work, though main campus gates typically tighten after 11 PM. For hangouts outside, students love cafés in Hudson Lane and Tibetan food spots in Majnu ka Tila. The locality is generally safe, especially in groups, since these areas are student-heavy and lively till midnight. After 1 AM, I’d prefer to roam with friends just for extra safety

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 6th semester onwards. The average package is around 20 LPA and the highest package is 85 LPA. The placements percentage for top branches is around 80% and many big companies like Amazon, Uber, Google, Microsoft, etc. offer placements. After my degree I plan on securing a placement on the tech field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as **fairly comprehensive and reasonably relevant**, especially in terms of building a strong foundation in core engineering concepts. One of the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course was the **structured curriculum covering important fundamentals such as programming, data structures, mathematics, and core engineering subjects**, which are essential for both technical roles and higher studies. The curriculum provides a solid theoretical base and helps develop analytical thinking, but for real-world applications students often need to complement it with **projects, internships, coding practice, and self-learning**, since some topics are still taught in a more traditional or theoretical way. In terms of improvements, the curriculum could benefit from **more industry-oriented electives, practical assignments, updated lab work, and interactive teaching methods such as case studies or project-based learning**. The exam system typically includes **two major exams per semester — a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam — along with internal assessments, quizzes, and assignments**. The exams are generally **moderate in difficulty**, and students who attend classes and prepare consistently are able to perform well, though the evaluation tends to focus more on conceptual understanding and written exams rather than purely practical skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really liked physics and applications of physics so chose mechanical engineering, as ut has a lot of application of physics directly can really see how things work not just ideally but actually Curriculum is really good besides getting assignments which noone takes seriously everyone just copies , there must be much more practical stuff so that everyone learns but we do get that in tech teams but not directly as a student in college. There must be practical teachings and proper guidance proper high level machineary must be there, industry visits must be there and internships in such companies must be encouraged There are 5 exams of 1.5 hour considered as mid sems and 6 exams of 3 hours considered as endsems

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really good, i was always intered in the Engineering perspective of cars, and I must say it tries to deliver but doesnt sicces that well, atleast till now. For example I was really interested to study IC Engines this semester, it was a 4 credit main course, but I got RGautam as a teacher and in lab there are just artificial small models which are cross-section of various engines scaled down. So I felt really bad As I said earlier, the exams are relatively easy.
