Course Curriculum Overview

4

I completed my bachelor in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics Among these three I liked Maths that's why I choose this course I also heard that maths is best for co-operate industry also. Real world application is MSc Mathematics curriculum strengthens core concepts and analytical skills, preparing students well for PhD, research, higher studies, and real-world problem-solving.The curriculum could include more practical applications and computational tools, while teaching can focus on interactive sessions, real-world examples, and project-based learning for better understanding. Every year examination is conducted two times semester wise and timings of examination is 3 hours if anyone have to passed with good marks they have to studied very hard because exam level is moderate to high and less chances of repetition of questions

Placement Experience

4

Yes there is a placement cell here. 2nd year students eligible for campus placement company started visiting campus for placement after one month of 2nd year started . Here company came for mostly 3 roles Data analyst, Data scientist and Subject matter expert. Companies like United Airlines, United Healthcare Optum, Cognitio analytics, Courseleap, transOrg analytics etc visited campus and the package they offer depends on company standards it vary from 5 lpa to 20 lpa . Avg package is around 9 lpa and highest package is offered 20 lpa for Data science role. About 20 to 30 percent of students are getting placed mostly are chosen for higher studies like phd . My plan is definitely going to cooperate industry for data analyst role

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes Every year fees is increased for new students about 7 to 10 percentage and same for old students I paid 10497 for both years Students have to pay one time registration fees which is around 250 during admission after that they have to pay tuition fees that I'll already tell you 10497 and during exam u have to pay examination fees which is around 1000 other than this you don't have to pay any fees this is for general category and for reservation may be 50% less and About 9-10 scholarship available in DU for maths students like PS Rana, Sneh Rana etc and students also apply for NSP based on graduation

Campus Life

4

There is no annual or technical festivals only freshers party and farewell party are celebrated every year when new students came then fresher party is held around on October months when senior's have about to completed their course then farewell party is conducted around on April months. Library facilities is very awesome you can find any kind of mathematics books and in library computers are also available with good wifi . Classroom have very good facilities with Whole building have centralized Ac and most of the classroom have projector and furniture is very modern style . Around one or two sports event held it is not much active Also there is no much extra curricular activities one or two events happened every year There is no any club social group etc

Admission

Yes I applied for JNU and JMI also but in JNU I didn't selected because of high cutoff and in JNU for Msc mathematics there is few no of seats for general category and in JMI i selected but I do lot research then I found DU is better JMI Admission is based on Cuet PG You must have to pass Bachelor with atleast one subject as a mathematics For DU maths honours students got some relaxation Cutoff depends on clg by clg Top clg like Hindu, Hansraj, Stephen etc have very high cutoff and some clg like PGDAV, Zakir Hussain have low cutoff and cutoff depends on difficulty of CUET exam. Overall admission experience is good u have to give cuet after cuet result declaration u have to fill DU application form after that they released cutoff after that if u selected then accept it pay fees that's it

Faculty

There is around 400 students in 4 different sections faculty to students ratio is probably 1:20 Most of them are good but mostly teachers are very strict Applied teachers are mostly chills while pure teachers are strict if u don't attend class u have some work for that teacher they support u for those u have to maintain good relation for proper attending classes. Sumit Sir is very very good teacher in whole department he is very supportive and their methods of teaching is awesome. One teacher is very rude one time when I asked him for sign in NOC form for intership he didn't sign the form. Exams are very toxic here 100 marks are totally exam based there is a class test for every subject and mid sem examination and final examination u faces atleast 1-2 exam/test every month. Paper level is moderate to difficult if u don't studied u definitely got failed because teacher's marking scheme is very strict. About 40% students failed every semester. This course is good for research who have to pursue PhD

Night Life

4

For Hangout things there are lots of places near University like kamla nagar, Hudson lane, Gtb Nagar, Vijaynagar etc where u find lots of gym , cafeteria, library, clubs and many things to hangout In campus there is cafeteria where u get food at affordable prices and for gym u can make pass for University gym which is little in a distance from department. Campus classes timings is mostly 9 to 3 pm . There is 5 to 6 hostel but chances is very low because every hostel have 1 or 2 seat but girls hostel have more seats

Campus placements are offered but I am still in my first year so I have no idea. Students usually go for higher studies (PhD) after master's. Clearing entrances becomes a task. They d offer campus placements it's not that intense as it should be.

Placements occur in two phases first in 3rd semester for Phase 1 and then Phase 2 in 4th semester. Percentage of people placed is low but the package and companies they got is excellent. The packages offered from 7.5 LPA to as high as 26 LPA. A lot of big companies visit the campus.
