Remarks

One thing that has to be mentioned while writing this purticular review is that, The college strictly follows unitary system. Each and every decision made on or by the college is based on 1 or 2 decision makers. To be frank i dont even know whether this a negetive or positive remark. But sometimes we felt this system little hard to digest.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

This college now comes under KTU and i was a student under kerala university (KU), and we were the last batch under KU from this college. Now the course curriculum and exam structure are completely different, but let me explain how they taught us. In our limited sem based schedule, the whole teaching process is based on the series exams. The whole syllabus provided is divided accordingly for the three series tests, So that final rush can be controlled. The Sessional marks are strictly calculated on the basis of the performance in these tests forced us to learn accordingly. (passing series test were a hard task for last minute learners like me). They cover everything in time!

Placement Experience

3

Placement opportunities are a kind of threat we faced. That doesn't means we didn't had any placements. Good companies like TCS , Byjus etc won't come in with a great number of opportunities, therefore only the number of students getting placements in good firms is limited, and no core placement drives for mechanical streams. So many small placement drives are there as a result, by the end of the year, the number of students who got placed will be a good percentage! The thing is even the average one's will be chosen, but not with a mind blowing packages. Special programmes like, Finishing school ( for placement preparation) , add on courses ( based on feild of interest) are conducted, but the thing is you have to pay for each and every service.

College Events

3.5

College events are the one topic which is to be mentioned. Arts sports college day, tour etc are conducted, apart from this inter College fest's ( both technical -Colloquim, Arts -Illuminati) are also being conducted each and every year without any fail.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since am a student via Government merit, i had to pay 75000 per year which was feasible. Apart from this , they collect so many other fees about 20000 at the time of admission and about 6000-7000 every consecutive year (Apart from this, Fines are collected for not maintaining dress code, being late in class). After all this the fees was 'ok'. But for management seats, i heard that , that's a bit expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provide all government regulated allowances and scholarships like fee concessions etc. They provide Grant for some project ideas about 10000 rs per team (only 10 teams are selected) Apart from this am not aware of any scholarship provided by them.

Campus Life

3

Labs are the places to be mentioned, the thing is everything there is well working, Including mechanical lab properties. The college give special interest in their properties and students will also give a special attention while operating it ( since they dont want to pay fine for it). Sports equipments etc are available, but time for everything has to be figured out separately under students risk.

Alumni/Alumna

Our department seniors are well helpful, and we had a great bond with them. As a result they were happy to help. We together conducted most of all together. So ragging was not there between us (but there existed some small problem with other department seniors, which is really common around all colleges)

Admission

I got admission in this purticular college by attending Kerala government entrance exam 2014. I secured quite a good rank for getting admissions in less demanded streams like IT, EC in Government-Aided or Any stream in private colleges. Since i preferred Mechanical Engineering stream , i Choose this College (With in 25 km from my home, and better than all other college nearby ,may be the best!). After allotments process are completed, i got a date from the college to get admitted. The admission process were not that time lagging, and they had enough staffs to cover the whole process ( staffs are not at all a problem for this purticular college). As a result i could complete my admission without any lag.

Faculty

4.5

Our Mechanical department was heaven, with good and helping staffs. First year was little rough (Our first year classes are happening in Administrative block itself with full surveillance), after that everything went really smooth. Our department was our second home. Faculties including lab staffs are helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
