What Students Say

Likes

Classrooms were nice, all the rooms has AC and comfortable and well lit
Location is very good, right in the heart of DU north campus, metro and locations for chilling are very close of fot
Exposure: being in Delhi, a good amount of exposure can be expected

Dislikes

Strictness: getting a good gpa is very hard only 1-2 students get 9 gpa in entire department of 140 students
Administration: not very friendly to students

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is good , may not be very well implemented but compared to other btech colleges, it's a pretty good quality, with the best thing being GE,AEC and VAC in 1st and 2nd year making things a bit easy and intresting

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 224000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee for first year was 2.16 lacks for 1st year, 2.24 for second 2.32 for 3rd and around 2.4 lacks for 4th year. Though there's an option to get 90 % and 50% fee waiver for family income less than 4lacks and 8 lacks respectively

Campus Life

Club and societies are non existent if you wanna do BTech from DU ..there are not social events as such in faculty of technology, though if you are not an introvert - you can have some extracurricular Events ans societies in Delhi University.

Admission

The main reason was the fact that this was a part of DU, I saw the potential and considering I may get high value after a few years as other colleges in my options were private colleges from aktu) Cutoff varies from 90-95 depending on department..(cse,ece,ee)

Faculty

There arent many professors here right now, mostly associate and assistant professors, though some are good, some are not so good as well There are only 1 midsem and then endsem. Though there can me assessment if faculty wants so

Night Life

Nightlife in Du in one of these best, there are always students around in the campus, shops are open till late , as lot of places to roam around and vibe is good for night stroll around the campus even till 2-4 am

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

NIT Delhi: A Balanced Blend of Academics, Opportunities, and Campus Life

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Great Placements but Campus needs improvements

Placement Experience:

After 3rd year students become eligible for campus placements. Almost 90% students gets placed. The top companies are Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google and Adobe. The highest package is 53 lacks and the average package is 20 lacs. I plan to become a software engineer after i complete my course or study further.

A decent college

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students get hired, obviously, and they get a decent package. Highest package from our college is 52 LPA. Average package is 7-8 LPA. Highest package off campus is 1.2 Cr. Per annum.
