Course Curriculum Overview

3

The syllabus is eye-catchy. It has all the trendy topics such as Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Photoshop, SEO, SMM, Google Analytics etc. I dont think the curriculum prepares us for real-world applications. The course only gives merely an introduction of the latest tools and trends. You surely get familier with all the practical purposes of the digital marketing but you lack exposure. The course-curriculum should be more advanced. The exams are happening every 2 months, even if the students have doubts. So, I think there should be more sessions for doubt clearing.

Internships Opportunities

3

We were given internship opportunity, but no companies name were given. One student can apply for either internship or job placement. Both the stipend for intership and the salary for jobs started from 7k. The internship length is varied from 3 months to 6 months.

Placement Experience

4

After 4th Module students become eligble for campus placements. We are not given the name of the companies. Average package for digital marketing students are 7k to 10k per month. They try their best to give you a placement. There only focus is to give you placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is Rs. 54,500. Registration Fees: Rs. 500 Admission Fees: Rs. 14,000 Batchmates paid the same amount, regardless of their caterogy. No scholarships or financial ais are available for students. But students can pay the total fees in installments. The installment amount is 5k per month for 8 months.

Campus Life

2

There are some festivals happen in the institute. They also arrange annual get together. They dont have any library or study material for this course. There are computers on the lab. You can practice there. No sports or extracurricular activities are offered on campus. There is no student portals. The atmosphere in this institute is like a school, very strict and composed.

Hostel Facilities

3

I have not joined a hostel. So, I cant tell about the facility. There are many rent options available nearby, so many students have opted for those. The rented rooms are fine and meal are also provided.

Admission

I choose this college, beacuse it gives 100% placement assistant. The course fees is moderate which is okay as it is a university diploma course. You are eligible to join the course after class 12th. There is no other admission test is taken.

Faculty

3

The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:5. The faculties are very approachable. They answer all the queries of the students. But the focus is only on finishing the syllabus. So, any out-of-the syllabus questions from studets are not encouraged. There are regular exams in every two months. The exams are moderate to difficult. You have to appear for both theoratical and practical examanination. The results are not shown which is a drawback. The question paper is also not given to the students. The current course-curriculum does not fully reflect the latest trends and advancements. The course also lacks practical exposure. The module topics are relevant but they should also include real time projects.

Interview Experience

4

There was no test taken for admission. There was a general counselling. Anyone who was interested to join the course, only have to pay the regiatration fees of Rs. 14,500. Every year the session starts from july and december. So anyone can take admission in any sessions.

Night Life

2

As I said, The campus is not very friendly so there is less chance of getting unwind. Though after exams, we students used to go to nearby cafes to chat. The campus is very safe to roam for women. But there is not many hangout spots.

Course subjects are overall good for all branch. But, if a student is interested in giving competitive exams like GATE, then he must be facing problems as the semester course is more theoretical related and boring, the same old style education system.

The placement situation at IIT KGP is one of th e best among Engineering Colleges in India. With an average package of around 2200000 and overall placement percentage of around 80 (B.Tech+M.Tech). Students become eligible for placement either if they get PPO(Pre Placement Offer) from the company they are interning in in the 5th semester or when they are in the 7th semester when placement season begins. The structure of curriculum is not so great. Definitely there is a scope for improvement . We are under MAKAUT university and through job readiness perspective the structure of curriculum is below average. Lots of inclusion of different subjects are needed along with the exclusion of lengthy monotonous subjects which doesn't yield any result.
