Likes
- Huge campus with good facilities. Its a campus of 300 are however the blocks may contain only 10 acres or near by. Rest of the area is covered by flora.
- Internship opportunities. VIT University have tie ups with several other university and companies which open many doors for us if we are consistent.
- FFCS. It has a fully flexible system to choose your own time table and faculty .
Dislikes
- Major thing i don't like abiut this university is despite paying lakhs for fees here we have to pay even more for enrolling in smallest of the things for our acedemics ad extra curticulars.
- There is a 10 min walking distance between the hostel and academic block and even 20 mins from the boys hostel. Which may be an issue for you if you are unwell as no transportation is provided. You can hace a bicycle but that doesn't helps when ill.
Course Curriculum Overview
VIT is known for its placement and strictness for discipline for which i joined this college. But joining this university i can say that the reality doesn't match with the hype created. We have lab classes and certain clubs that help us develop. We also get chance to participate in hackathons that help us to prepare for real life problems. I'm a fresher so i don't know more about Curriculum but i know that its hard to score well i exams
Placement Experience
About 50 - 60 percent students only get chance to sit for the interview among whom 70 percent aroung get placement. Many national international companies visit for placements. Highest packagw offered till date is 59 lpa and average is 8 lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
I'm a student in VIT university Bhopal. I'm paying an annual fees of 2 lakhs pr year as tuition fees and beside that 2.15 lakh as hostel fees. I got CSE branch in VIT in category 1st . However many of my friends are paying 4 to 5 lakh for the same course here andalso the hostel fees. VIT doesn't provides any such merit based scolarship . Your rank in VITEEE exam devides your academic fees which will vary in between 2 lakhs to 5 lakhs for all kind of courses.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is good. Many technical and non technical clubs are there to join. Functions take plave time to time bitbare sll paid. Grounds for badminton, football, basketball are there and we aksi gwr opportunities to compete with otger colleges. Clubs are runned by srudebts under the supervision of teachers.
Hostel Facilities
Room prizes increase as tye number of bed decrease. Rooms are not that big and have old infrastructure as small. Insects ans animals are often seen in hostels. Meal quality and variaty is good. There is also a supervisor whok you can approach for any issues with the food quality or hygiene. Menu keeps on revising the non veg and jain options are also provided.
Admission
I gave my jee first attempt and scored 94 percentile which was not much for getting a good govt college. So I've to choose in orivate colleges only. I found the fees and placement records of VIT comparatively better from other private universities and it was easy to get in to this college so I've to choose this. Admission process is very lengthy here and needs a lot of paper work. You van easily prepare for VITEEE exam as you preare for jee . 5 rounds of seat allotment takes place there after and sp does the fees increase in each round. Then you're given a list of documents to be bought for onboarding. You need to pick hostel and pay the fees for the same before you arrive.
Faculty
There are many faculty for all subjects from all over the country. The professors from south are a bit more strict. Around 20 faculty are available for each course also because huge nunber of students in this university as its not that hard to take admission here. We have 2 long semester of 4 months and 1 short semester of 2months. Each with a mid term and end term exam. Its hard to score a good cgpa here.
Night Life
There are 3 to 4 cafeterias inside the campus as it's not allowed to leave the campus offen. Garden area and libraries are provided to study and spend time with friends . Mess food is also food and gives lots od variety sonits not necessary to eat out. Hostels are provided by gyms separately. In timing for girls hostel is 7 30 pm and for boys 8 pm. On weekends 6 pm is the in timing for girls hostel.
