Course Curriculum Overview

3

They follow the UGC guidelines and prepare syllabus accordingly. In my course I have found all relevant topics and subjects being taught to us. And not just that we are also encouraged for supplementary readings to know more than just required to pass exams. Also the curriculum helps us to prepare for future endeavors like CUET-PG, NET exam, etc.

Internships Opportunities

2

There are internship drives for students. however, not for my courses or any course in humanities and applied sciences. However, there are opportunities for BBA, BTECH students. Well-known companies like Capgemini, Microsoft, etc. have hired interns from here. Besides most companies are from delhi NCR region where students land internships.

Placement Experience

3

As my course B.A. English Hons. is a non-technical one, placements are generally not there for such courses. But still, last year some of my seniors do got placed in some private companies through campus placement drives itself. Besides, placement opportunities are here at GLA.

Fees and Financial Aid

GLA University's B.A. English Hons. is a 3 year course with an optional 4th year if you want to do the B.A. English Hons./by research. Since I opt for the former 3 year course, for 1st year, I paid Rs 47000 (Rs.35000-tution fee; Rs.6000-exam fee; Rs.5000-security fee; alumni fee-Rs.1000). For 2nd Year I paid, Rs.43000 (Rs.37000-tution fee; Rs.6000-exam fee). For 3rd year I paid Rs.45000 (Rs.39000-tution fee; Rs.6000-exam fee).

Campus Life

4

Campus life is nice at GLA University, Mathura. There are various student clubs, multiple events and competitions. Thus, students do have a stage to showcase talent and hobbies, besides academics. I was a part of college's media club and also went on becoming the President of the club in my final year and the experience was indeed very great. We had so much to learn. Clubs are active and students do have their creative freedom. Spaces are provided for meetings discussions and events. There are big auditoriums, conference halls, seminar halls, etc. to support this.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are clean and good. They are quite affordable. However, there are strict regarding outings. You need permissions from wardens for leave and outings on working days. However, facilities like gym, mess, shops, canteens, etc. are all available. Safety concerns are major here. Mess food is good and have a wide variety. There are portals and platforms for complaints and issues you face during your stay.

Admission

I came to GLA University as my last resort. When I couldn't get into Delhi University I had no choice left. But I ended up taking admission here because when I looked at the faculty members and syllabus here I thought this isn't bad. Although the competition level and the studies are not as good as top tier institutes like DU, BHU, JNU, etc but they are not worst or bad. The admission process is pretty simple and direct. You can register online, give the GLAET entrance test and then pay your fee, do the document verification and simply join in.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is quite great. GLA has one of the biggest Department for english with over 50+ faculty members. The professors are well qualified and highly intellectual. Most of them hail from revered institutes. There are teachers for all specializations and courses. They are easy to talk to and supportive. Our HOD, Dr. Ramananjey Kumar Upadhyay is also an inspiring teacher making sure we students get as many opportunities as we can.

Night Life

2

Since, I was a hosteller. Nightlife was nothing but a few strolls around the lawn. The girls hostel doors were closed by 7 p.m. and we cannot wander around college campus after that. Outings for girls were only on Saturdays and Sundays and other holidays. Safety concerns for hostellers are quite strict, especially for girls hostellers. However, for boys there is a much relaxed system. They have daily outings and there curfew extends till 8 p.m.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have interest in psychology that's why I adapt this course. got to know so many things about psychology and which help me to know people better really help me in my day today life. But the professor need to explain more and do not give illusionary examples. Did they have to try to explain in real world scenario. The courses is difficult and the paper is so lengthy give three hours to write and the people is so many that the time is insufficient they need to give more time if they expect to fill 24 pages of answer sheet.

Amity University, Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at Amity University is a well rounded blend of theortical principles and practical relevance that shaped my future career. There are modules like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and statistics that provide a strong formation for any future career opportunities in economics or finance. Additionally the presence of specialise subject like health economics, developmental economics, international trade, public policy and behavioural economics very highly appealing and something you would not find in other universities or/and government university. The inclusion of such modules got my attention because it promised to go beyond traditional economic subjects and focusing on the practical subjects that are also industry specific level of domain of economics. They were also research projects, data analysis classes, case studies throughout the three year course which allows students to apply and test their knoweldge that further enhance the value of the degree. There were also subjects like environmental sciences, psychology, communicative English which was made mandatory for students that help them shape their personality and adapt more to a corporate setting. The examination system is designed to assess the viability of skills and critically but the difficulty of exam especially towards the end of semester can create unnecessary pressure for students. There will be time that there will be last minute syllabus changes or additional chapters to be considered and there is no structured format of what you can expect in the written exam however there is a fair grading system though some students feel that instead of the exams there can be more emphasis on analytical side rather than modules that require rote learning.

Overall curriculum was good that they make proper schedules of classes and all but there was something lacking is that sometimes the professor was absent and we wasn't aware about that and sitting in that class without knowing they should inform us or make a proper arrangement for replacing of class with other teacher and also there was lacking of technology in studies I didn't remember how many times they used the projector for proper teaching.
