Vasanta College for Women, Varanasi, popularly known as VCW BHU, was established in 1913 as one of the oldest colleges in Varanasi. The NAAC has accredited the institution with an A+ grade. VCW BHU is affiliated with Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

VCW BHU offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs in Arts, Social Science, and Education. The institute offers UG, PG, and doctoral degrees. VCW BHU Admission 2025

VCW BHU offers admission to major courses such as BA, BCom, MA, and PhD. VCW BHU admission is based on entrance exams, followed by Counselling.

Admission to the Bachelor’s program is based on CUET and 10+2 score, followed by BHU admission counselling. Meanwhile, admission to the PG program is based on CUET PG and graduation in a relevant subject, followed by BHU admission counselling. Admission to PhD courses is based on RET and followed by a Personal Interview.

Based on the CUET score, candidates have to register for BHU Admission counseling @bhu.ac.in. This process is applicable for both UG and PG.

Campus is quite beautiful as it is situated near bank of ganga . Serene atmosphere, beautiful greenery is so mesmerizing
Teachers are quite polite and they maintain a friendly environment there
Basic infrastructure and extensive campus alongwith good Library and canteen

Dislikes

Campus's location is quite remote as it is in outskirts of varanasi.
Personally i didn't liked the condition of washrooms there . They should maintain cleanliness there.
Irregularities in timings and lack of info. Too much dealy in alloting minor subjects

Student view on course curriculum

Well! I love literature and i write poems and stories so i took english hons. And there's quite good scope in this subject as it is a global language and in demand nowadays. And professor of English is quite good i personally liked her so much.

TCS, wipro, infosys are some of the companies offering internships for the students in india.presenting an exceptional chance to work on an exceptional and significant projects and contribute to the company's innovative efforts.

Placement provided by the college

I guess from 5th semester students become eligible for campus placements. The highest and average package as per company and profile offered is 4-5 lackhs per annum. And my plans after getting degree is that i wanna try for defence jobs.

VCW BHU campus is fully well equipped with modern facilities such as a Library, Computer Lab, Museum, etc. The college is also well known for its Placements. It provides its students with recruitment options available, for both in corporate and public sectors.

College fest and various activities

Well! Number of fests and functions happens in the college and there's quite good range of books and journals in the Library you can get them and read them and enjoy reading. And there's ncc and so many sports like basket ball, badminton, tennis, kabaddi, volleyball and etc.

Well the faculties are good and they maintain a healthy faculty to student's relationship.i didn't liked the hostel facilities as they should improve the fees of hostel are quite expensive but the facilities are just okay . There are 6 semester exams and they are of medium level the one who has studied well they won't fail .

Admission process of the college

I had applied to English and foreign language university lucknow for BA english hons. But as it is far from my home and i got Banaras Hindu University (VCW) which is a grade A++ college and it's near my location so that's why i chose that.and i haven't got rejections from any other colleges. For getting admission in this college you've to apply for cuet exam and you've to attempt it. Then you've to fill BHU's registration form then preference of courses as per your choice and you'll get the course and college as per your preference and marks

The aspect of the colleage i loved is it's surroundings and yeah certain facilities is good too

Admission:

I apply to du but didn't get a good colleage ,i got an off campus which was not good and I didn't get in to eflu ,i also got pondichery but it was too late as i joined here before that ,the admission process is to write curt and score marks and it has relaxation according to category,try to write easy subjects which doesn't have a lot of students to write that will pretty make easier to score the overall admission experience was over whelming

I have applied to saheed bhagat singh college delhi . And i didn't make there because as i got College allotment in BHU and it's near my location that's why i didn't opt for that college in new delhi and went for bhu as it's a renowned university. I didn't got rejected from other colleges that i have applied.for getting admission in bhu you've to give cuet exam and then you've to fill registration form for BHU. And you'll get college allotment as per your preference and marks.

Diversity of the college , despite being a girls college , the majority of the Populus belongs from different states
Library and other facilities like canteen , basketball court and how accessible transport is

Admission:

I got a confirm in mission in three other colleges the first Zakir Hussain college of the Delhi University for a ba honours in English and mathematics but considering it was in a area not considered safe for girls and the course reputation being a little strict, I turned down the opportunity. I also got a confirmed in mission alloyd business school greater Noida however their course was more marketing and artificial intelligence oriented rather than are regular bachelors in business accountancy. Also want to confirm admission from galgotias University greater Noida however they curriculum structure was very unclear as described in their teaching module and the reviews of the student studying their were not positive about the professors. VCW offers how much better curriculum as well as a much supported faculty and much more opportunities then the private universities I have previously and enrolled in , affiliation to the Banaras Hindu University which is known for there world class history and archaeology courses. My selection to these universities was based on my marks in the CUET exam.

Life at Vasanta college for Women!!

The college has a serene atmosphere and everyone is friendly over here . There are a lot of trees and that makes it a bit cooler than the rest of the areas.
There are a lot of cultural activities held for students as well.

Dislikes

It gets really humid in the months from may to September so i think there should be AC in classes .

I also applied to DU but i couldnt get in because my CUET score wasn't as much as required. I chose VCW as it is affiliated with BHU which is one of the best universities in India For admission in my college you need to clear CUET and score good marks and then apply for counselling by the BHU samarth portal . After the counselling is done and you have got your seat you have to go for physical verification of documents to BHU in your respective departments. And then classes will start whenever college decides. Before the commencement of classes you will receive a admission letter from VCW and in that there will be a admission form and undertaking form for ragging. You have to fill both and take a print out and also pay a fees of 500 rupees online . Then next day you have to come to college and submit the admission form and undertaking and also your TC and character certificate from school . You will again have to pay 500 in cash . Then your admission process will be completed.

I had applied to DU,CURAJ,and I got selected in CURAJ but I chosen BHU over this one of main factors was thar BHU IS brand,it's nirf ranking is 5,and I have completed my graduation from BHU so it was convenient for me,and Varanasi as a city is really affordable

The campus of vasanta college for women provide peaceful environment with a natural sideview of holy river Ganga.

Dislikes

The new IT lab of the vasanta college for women is not providing any facilities to students ,even their entry is not allowed.
The wifi of the campus is in poor condition .The wifi speed is below average around the campus everytime.

For the admission procedure a entrance exam is conducted by CUET and the application form,fees and dates all are provided in online form. And the eligibility criteria is decided by bhu but the procedure was a little lengthy .

Medical Facility is not available in our college

As the vasanta college for women is affiliated to Banaras Hindu University, so it was based on common university Entrance Test. And the expected cut offs for rhis college was 450. The Vasanta College for women have their own portal where students can check the fee structure,fees and application dates. The benefits are available for SC ST and OBCs. No reservation for General Category. The college timings are 10am to 4pm. The admission process is very easy.

A Vibrant Institution for learning and growing!!

Admission:

I appeared for BHU B.Ed entrance through CUET PG conducted by NTA. I scored 216 in the index. The admission process was systematic in manner. I got an email for confirming my seat in Seal Allocation of BHU B.Ed in VCW ( Vasanta College For Women). After Confirming it , I got the message to make the fee payment for admission in the programme, through the online portal of Student admission in BHU ucanapply website. After paying the fee I got the admission letter and the date of offline counselling was mentioned in that letter. List of documents that I had to take with me was also mentioned. I appeared for the offline counselling in the college and got verified my documents. And just after a Week I got the class schedule and the invite for Induction Programme.

Direct admission to Vasanta College for Women, Varanasi is not available. The college admits students through the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) counseling process, which is based on CUET (Common University Entrance Test) scores conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

No, Vasanta College for Women, Varanasi, does not offer direct admission. All admissions are conducted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) under Banaras Hindu University (BHU), based on CUET (UG/PG) scores and subsequent counseling. Direct admission is not permissible under any quota.

Vasanta College For Women Varanasi B.Ed is offered as 2 Years Full Time program. The minimum eligibility criteria for B.Ed is Graduation. The total fees for Vasanta College For Women Varanasi B.Ed is INR 26,900 for the complete course duration. The candidate should have passed a bachelors degree obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India. A Relaxation of 5% aggregate is there for SC/ST candidates. Admissions to all courses are on the basis of the entrance tests conducted by Banaras Hindu University. To qualify for admissions, candidates must not only fulfill the eligibility criteria but also achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the Entrance Test.
