What Students Say
Likes
- The timing of the college is perfect (7-11am) which really helps me to do internships or do anything productive. It also makes the traveling part easier.
- The college is very active in extra-curricular activities and fests.
- The professor are very knowledgeable and approachable. They provide notes and complete the syllabus on time.
Dislikes
- The attendance is strict. They don't allow us for lecture even if we are just 10 minutes late. So yes it's important to be punctual and arrive to lectures on time or else you will end up spending time in canteen.
- The office people are very slow. So getting documents signed and other work gets difficult as they are not very cooperative.
- The infrastructure (like washrooms , canteen ,AC) is a bit poor. So there is a need to improve the infrastructure of the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Honestly, the course alone can't prepare you for real world applications. It's important to learn some skills before getting into job market. The course is pretty theory based and doesn't have a practical approach. The only skill thing that college helps with is public speaking through presentations. The teaching methods are also very much traditional type. So it's better to learn some extra skills and get experience, that can help you get your ideal job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees I pay is around 32000-35000 rupees per year which mostly contains all other fees and charges. There is one government scholarship opportunity which is provided to certain group of people based on caste or something.
Campus Life
The BMS department typically has 3-4 fests in a years. Parallax is the biggest fest of them all which generally held in January. The college is not doubt very active in fests. The classrooms are well equipped with AC , good benches and smartboards. We also have good AV rooms and computer labs. Many sports events are held in the college. The college also has NSS , NCC , DLLE , E-cell group or clubs which are very helpful.
Admission
I applied and selected in KC college for economic hons program and sies sion for BMS. I rejected these colleges due to its location, poor management and infrastructure. So I chose this college due to its good location, faculty, management, infrastructure and easy admission process. The college selects students based on 12th marks (merit based). Cutoffs goes around 75-79% depending on the subjects. The admission experience was smooth and the faculty and coordinators helped us with everything properly.
Faculty
Most of the faculty of the college are very knowledgeable and approachable. They teach well and are very friendly with the students. They provide us with the ppts , notes and everything we need to improve our academics. I only faced issues with 1-2 professors in my 2 years journey but the college has taken action towards them. In a semester we have two exams (internals-20M and externals-75M) and they are moderately difficult. We can score a good cgpa with a month of study. Most of the students are able to pass the exams and only few people get KT in few subjects which they can clear by giving the exams again. The course curriculum is not much updated according to the present job market because the course is under Mumbai University (not NEP).
Night Life
My favourite hangout spot would the garden. The canteen is also very nice and food is good and quite affordable. The library is open till 5-6PM. The college is near to juhu beach and iskon temple. And the Santacruz area is very safe whether it's day or night. The college doesn't have any hostels.
