- Specially for bsc students, schedule is so hectic that we can't get more time to enjoy in different cultural programs
- Also bsc students can't even participate in different societies or clubs because again there schedule is so hectic and academic stress is more
- The canteen is not good. there is no variety at all
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is bsc botany hons. As it was not my first choice to study it was allotted to me during counseling according to my marks in cuet. But i made peace with it now. I don't actually like this subject but yes slowly I'm getting intrested in it after learning about scopes of this course. The whole semester ends by doing assignments, practicals , making records, giving mid sem exams and then end sem.
Internships Opportunities
Bhu has launched Dr. Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan internship offering a one year internship program for various disciplines, including those related to bsc. Students. This internship offers a monthly stipend for around 20000.
Fees and Financial Aid
Semester wise fees for my course is 2000 which breaks into tution fee that is 500 and development fee 1500/- so for a year the total fee is 4000 and for entire semester it is 12000 Hostel fees is around 4000-5000 per year and mess fees is 50 rs per plate. Registration fees for the course is only 500 that they took during admission. Also there are very few paid seats are available which is around i guess 20000 per semester. Also the fees for reserved category and quota aided students is less that is around 1300 per semester. There is no examination fee. There are various scholarships provided that are bindhyachal devi scholarship, bimla Srivastava scholarship etc. Also free smartphone and tablet distribution by up government.
Campus Life
There are many cultural fests or programs happens mostly in February and March for e.g. spandan In bhu we have central library which is so much big and filled with books of all type The classrooms are provided with mics, smart boards, projectors etc There are many social groups that student run, also so many clubs and societies and it also doesn't impact on students academics as the timings for these are after 5pm that is when the college gets over. But the drawback is only hostel students can participate more in the clubs, societies, fests not day scholars.
Admission
The eligibility criteria for my course bsc (botany hons) is to have pcb in your 12th and then to give CUET exam, after clearing the exam you will get allotted into the different biology courses according to your cuet marks. The cutoff for bsc is higher than arts. Then you have to verify physically in the college for admission process before that you have to register for the course online and the registration fees is 500/- I have also applied in Delhi University but i didn't chose because of cost living. As living in Delhi is so much expensive as compared to here also the campus life is more exciting here and the facilities provided here is more. The best facility is health centre where students get treatment and medicine free.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is sufficient. Some teachers are so good, polite and helpful. They help in every way they can. But some are very strict, they are not approachable and sometimes it seems like that we are studying in school not in college. They try to control us like kids again I'm saying this for my college that is mahila Mahavidyalaya that comes under bhu main campus. There are 2 exams per semester that are - mid semester exams for 30 marks and end semester exams for 70 marks that is total 100 marks .We need to score minimum 40 marks out of 100 to pass in a subject. Well the exams are not that much hard but yes if you didn't pay attention specially in bsc then you will get fail. Many students get fail in end sem exams.
Night Life
Famous hangout places inside the campus is Vishwanath Temple, madhuban cafe. There is museum present inside the campus. For the restaurant outside university campus we get extra discount by showing our student passbook (which is our identity proof) Hostel timing are restricted for girls upto 8 p.m in the evening but for the boys there are no any restriction. Whole campus is covered with lights and the night experience at campus is just amazing
