Course Curriculum Overview

3

The various accounting subjects such as financial accounting, corporate accounting, costing, management accounting, audit, and GST were included in the curriculum. This covered most of the accounting knowledge we would need for corporate job. But i think there could be subjects such as personal finance and investment that would prepare us for the real world. There could be more interactive teaching where students would be given projects and assignments that would help them be industry ready. There are 2 unit test before a final semester exam. So we totally have 3 exams per semester but the gap between them is normally 25 days with multiple assignment which sometimes make it really hectic. The exams are held in 2 session the first session is from 9 to 11 and the second session is from 1 to 3. The difficulty of exams is easy to moderate.

Placement Experience

3

The students become eligible for campus placement from the 6th semester. They also provide us with training for interview and aptitude test. The average package is 6 to 7 LPA. I plan to start working after getting my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees per annum is around 88,000 for commerce where we pay for tuition, admission and it also includes development fee. BBA fees is around 1,10,000 and BCA fees is around 90,000 while other science and arts stream fees is around 40,000 to 60,000

Campus Life

4

There are multiple events throughout the academic year. The house of commerce and management has 2 big events. Where we have inter-class and intercollegiate events. There are also many other evnts you could participate other than events from your department. There is AICUF and Rotract club and eco culb where students participate and work for the society. There is Entrepreneurship cell where students who are interested in business put up stall every Thursday. We have food fests organized during Christmas to raise funds for the needy. There are sports teams, fashion teams, and dance teams which students join as per their intrests.

Admission

We could do the admission offline or online. In online admission we get an email from the college with letter of acceptance. I specifically wanted a college with was Autonomous and the syllabus of this college aligned with my interests

Faculty

3

There is 10:3 faculty-to-student ratio. The teachers have a good relationship with students. The faculty provides mentorship to students with so every student where students have a chance to receive guidance. The are teachers who genuine help students for their careers. But there are many teachers who fails to complete their syllabus on time and have to rush with it at the last moment. The course is relevant but i feel there could be a few more industry related subjects and provide with a few courses such as PowerBI, Financial Modelling

Night Life

3

The college has a canteen, library, gym, media studios and labs. There is also hostels inside the college campus. The college is in kormangala so there are many hangout places outside the college for the students.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
