Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose bcom because i wanted to do acca as this combination is the best one to cope with. Our faculty members make us well prepared for the real world applications by training us in presentations and organising events and making sure that we get real world experiences. We have 2 main exams each and internals in between them and the exams are conducted for 3 hours while internals are of only 1 and half hours. They prepare us well and help us in all aspects to ensure that we write our exams well and score good marks

Placement Experience

4

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees which i paid this year is 45000 in total including the tuition fees and others. And the fees does not vary to different students it one and and the same to all. And they do provide NSP AND SSP scholarship and many other small scholarship amounting less than 10000

Campus Life

4

We have a lot of fest first comes the Cultural inauguration and then flash mob followed by some Cultural competitions and then kannada rajyotsava and later we have philo fest which comes after fun week and sports day we even have management fest too. There is a huge library in our campus which gives access to over 15000 books or more. We have basic facilities like fan and lightnings in our classrooms. We do have a wide range of sports activities and competitions conducted for interested students they even go for university selections and represent universities in national levels. We have a student portal where we get access to all academic related stuff

Admission

I had applied to st Joseph's college of Commerce in mysore. I did not get rejected from that college and the fees is same as it is in st philomena's that is 45000 per year including all other expenses. I did not go there as they did not provide acca with bcom they had only cma and ca along with bcom. The admission process in my college is quite simple and easy they guide with every step. They take in all students who has around 50% marks in puc and they give cut offs if someone score more than 75% in the second puc examination

Faculty

5

The faculties in my department are quite friendly and approachable they always give their best to help us whenever we need. And they are always ready to explain things to us if we dont understand anything. There are few teachers i like the most but i cannot name them due to privacy concerns. We have 2 main exams each year and then in between they conduct internals. It is not quite difficult to pass them as they prepare us really well and help us in every possible ways to make it easy for us to study that particular subject

Night Life

4

We have a gym which is for both girls and boys they have different timings there and huge sports grounds one library and two canteens. There is hostel facilities for both boys and girls and as of i know it closes at 5 when the main campus closes as it is situated inside the campus. As the college is situated in bannimantap there are a lot of places where students hangout like small coffee places and cafes

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
