MY GCET JOURNEY : An Electrical Engineering Perspective

The curriculum includes practical subjects and industry revelan topics,which influenced my decision to chosse this course. It prepares well for real world jobs and higher studies by combining theory with hands on learning.

L&T offered the role of site engineer intern with stipend of Rs 10,000 - 15,000/-month. Tasks were testing of air circuit breakers,voltage circuit breakers,load flow analysis Outcome:Submitted a site commissioning report,gained hands on experience in industrial safety and panel design. TORRENT POWER offered the role of electrical maintenancw intern with stipend of Rs 8000 - 12000 /-month. Task:Collected transformer loading data,assessed power factor correction. Outcome:Identefied losses and suggested capacitor bank upgrades,presented report to company supervisors

At GCET , students generally become eligible for campus placement from 7th semester onwards. L&T - 3 offers TORRENT POWER - 2 offers ADANI GROUP - 1 offer ABB - interviewed,no confirmed selection that year TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES - 20+ offers(open to all branches) L&T offered highest packege for graduate engineer trainee which was 5.5 LPA. TORRENT POWER offered average package of 4.0 LPA for core role For electrical engineering placement varies year by year based on the market in my batch core sector placement was 30-35% and overal placement includint IT or counsultng was 70-75% and remaining opted higher studies,GATE preparation,or government exams. i am interested in renewable energy research and might explore opportunities abroad for higher studies.

FESTIVALS AND EVENTS: Jashn" is the annual festival of GCET,usuall held in FEBRUARY or early MARCH. Torque"s GCET technical festival,generally conducted in september or october. LIBRARY RESOURCES: Over 40000 book covering core subjects,reference texts,and competitive exam material. LCD PROJECTORS and Whiteboards,high speed internet for presentation and digital learning.Apart from this smart classrooms are available in select blocks for interactive sessions. Dedicated laboratories for Electrical students such as power system lab,machines lab,and control systems lab with updated equipment and simulation tools like MATLAB,PSCAD,and LabVIEW.

The admission process was quite streamlined.After submitting the application from online and entering my jee main score,i was shortlisted for counseling.In the counseling process included document verification and seat allotment based on preference and rank. Candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with physics chemistry,and mathematics, securing at least 60% aggregate. The college accepts score from exams like JEE Main,State entrance exam,and also conducts its own entrance test for certain programs and the cuttoff for this field is minimum 72 in state board exam it may vary so please check on official website. Overall,the communication from the admissions team was timely,and the entire experience from application to conformation was smooth and well managed.

The faculty to student ratio at gcet is decent, ensuring individual attention in most cases.Faculty members are generally approchable,and many are willing to help outside class hours The relationship between faculty is mostly friendly and professional. The exams are moderately difficult.The subjects can be tough,especially inthe initial years.

Gym:-Open 6-9 AM & 5-9 PM closed on sundays. Library:-9AM-6PM till 8 pmduring durig exams and closed on sundays. Cafeteria:-8AM-6PM,Limited options post 5 PM. Common area:-Open till 7:30 on most days.
