Course Curriculum Overview

4

the pharmacy course structure in the first 2 semesters only has 2 pharmacy courses in the second sem all other courses we have are in common with the engineering students . most of our relevant pharmacy courses are in the second and third year whereas in the most pharmacy colleges the students knowledge level about their degree is more after 1st year than we do even after the 2nd year .bits does provide the oppurtunity to take other electives as well as a minor degree something that other pharmacy colleges dont provide . most of our pharmacy courses are lab oriented and include a weekly lab although i believe there should be more lab exposure andvmore weightage to labs as they teach the practical uses of our degree we have a midsemeter and a comprehensive end semester other than that our department takes multiple surpirise quizzes in the class timings we also have daily lab evaluation and lab quizzes as well

Internships Opportunities

3

we have practice school 1(after our second year ) which provides a 2 month intenrship we have to pay 90000 for it and we recieve no stipend multiple companies register for it and we get to give our prefernce you can also bring your own ps station as well similarly we have PS 2(6 month long in our 4th year) the allotment process is similar but ps 2 does provide minimal stipends additionally we have summer internship oppurtunities as well

Placement Experience

3

the ca,pus placements are above average for the engineering courses in comparision to other private colleges but pharmacy placements are below par tey do not call a lot of core pharmacy companies for placmeents and most people in this degree either opt for non core placements or go for higher studies any core placments have very low packages(4 lpa) and are not much to begin with . i intend to go for higher studies(MBA) either in india or abroad

Fees and Financial Aid

the basic tuition fee per semester was 2,50,000 in the first year with a 5% increment every year . the hostel fees is 20000 per semester and then there is 10000 of mess advance that has to be paid in the beginning of the semester and additional mess cost is given with the fees of the next semester

Campus Life

5

the campus culture is greatr there are multiple clubs there is atleast one fest in each sem (september-sports fest october-cultural fest april-technical fest )and the fest coordinating bodies are also student run there is a club for almost each interest and they have good significance in the student life. the sytudent culture is respectful and friendly , any cases of bullying are rare and taken seriously there is a well established library with extensive sitting areas as well as a vast collection of books . there is a large sports complex offering most sport facilities as well as a students activity center with a gym

Hostel Facilities

3

for the first 2 years we are provided a 2 sharing hostel room in first year roommate is randomly alloted in second year you can chose your roommates andf even your neighbours there are communal bathrooms and separate washrooms where there is constant water supply each hostel has a mess where food is provided breakfast lunch dinner the mess food is average with a different menu everyday that runs in a 15 day cycle the quality is average and mostly clean wuth avrerage taste the menu variety is good the hostel fees is about 40k per year paid semesterly(20k) the rooms are spacious but there is no air conditioning except in common rooms

Admission

i got accepted in all colleges i applied to . i had applied to vit vellore for btech in biotehcnology and i had gotten the seat for it and even paid the fees for one semester , i decided not to go as i lived closer to bits pilani and from what i heard it had better campus culture and less alienation as i had heard people experience in vit other than that it also had a better brand name as compared to vit and srm( which i also applied to for biotechnology and got accepted at) srm had a fees of about 100000 whioch is significantly less than both bits and vit(approx 24 lakhs) but the brand name of srm was not as much and its campus culture did not excite me

Faculty

3

the faculty in the pharmacy department are very knowledgeable and educated they are extremely proficient but they lack flexibilty they are stuck in their ways and are npt willing to evolve with time and technology their grading is strict and they value things such as attendance more than some other departments in the colllege . some are apporachable but in most cases approaaching the faculty shows no avail or betterment .Their makeup policies are too strict and do not take into account even serious cases

Night Life

5

we dont have any hostel in timings we do need to get into campus by 9pm night life is lively more so than the day gym closes by 8 but opens early morning same with other sport complexes eateries stay opened until 2 on most days and till 4 during exams most areas are accesible even during night and the campus remains open and lively . the library stays open all night during exams

Other Applied Colleges

SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Biotechnology)

better college brand of bits compared to srm

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Biotechnology)

vit campus was less preferable to the bits pilani campus

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college are excellent for tech and other domains, however, in terms of my own degree, ie B.Pharmacy, significant direct placement opportunities in core pharmacy are not available. The college is lacking in this respect, even in terms of summer training and opportunities, Pharmacy students do not get much opportunity. This is prevelant even for pharm tech or other related fields. They have to look for other domains for placements (finance, data science, consulting etc). Students can also get a ppo from ps2 opportunities. Approx 70-80% people are placed, in terms of pharma, only 30-40% people are placed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The exams and their questions, I would rate the 8.5 out of 10 in term of difficulties because of twisted questions. In class their is always class test , assignments , and presentation which personaly I consider good to boost the confidence and presentation level. Teachers use both board and projector for teaching, it mostly depends on students how they want to learn. Companies like appollo come to tell us about them and how we can do better which is a good thing.
