Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum as far as relevance is concerned is varying, the vareity of courses offered tie into a comprehensive package which equips students and helps them explore across various domains through dels ie discipline electives, opels ie open electives and huels ie humanities electives which are all an integral and necessary part of the degree completion. As far as my core subjects are concerned, it is updated and varying, depending on the instructor in-charge. The course concent is relevant and has real world aplications. In my opinion, lab credits for my specific degree should be improved to give more real- life aplications fo theory. Surprise evaluatiives should be limited in order to provide students flexibilty to explore across various domains. The difficulty level is moderate but grading should be improved, ie providing a B or 7 at average instead of C ie 6.

Placement Experience

2

The placements in my college are excellent for tech and other domains, however, in terms of my own degree, ie B.Pharmacy, significant direct placement opportunities in core pharmacy are not available. The college is lacking in this respect, even in terms of summer training and opportunities, Pharmacy students do not get much opportunity. This is prevelant even for pharm tech or other related fields. They have to look for other domains for placements (finance, data science, consulting etc). Students can also get a ppo from ps2 opportunities. Approx 70-80% people are placed, in terms of pharma, only 30-40% people are placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The semester wise fee is approximately 3 lakhs, this is including hostel and mess fee. The hostel fee is approximately 20k per semester (including electricity, water) and the mess fee is paid advance (10k) for the next semester. The monthly mess fee is about 5k (180 per day) for a month. Scholarship available is MCN ie Merit cum need, is for the students with yearly family income less than 12lpa. 100% to 25% relaxation given on tuition fee based on the Cummulative garde up to the particular semester. With 6 cgpa receiving about 25% relaxation. Top 1% of the batch gets Merit scholarship as well.

Campus Life

5

The over-all experince in relation to social aspects is quite nice. We have multiple clubs and departments for multiple fests that are conducted year round. There are three fests, OASIS (cultural, Asia's 2nd largest), APOGEE (technical fest) and BOSM (sports fest). The range of books available in the library is quite good. The classrooms are equipped with projectors as well as chalk boards. There have been multiple student run ventures and the strartup culture of BITS Pilani is one of the best.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels do not have ACs, they come equipped with a study table-char, bed, almirah and balcony (only for girls). The meal quality is pretty decent, the mess is under the SSMS, which is a seperate body. Affordability of the hostel is quite decent. Common rooms have ACs.

Admission

I selected this college over other colleges due to its legacy, exposure and opportunities. The freedom to traverse through multiple domains and it's flexible academics. I had applied to almost all biotech, bio engineering related colleges to get into health sector domain. I did not get rejection from any of the colleges. The admission process of my college includes an eligibility test, BITSAT, the scores of which determine admission into thsi college. I had appeared for the test in PCB subjects instead of PCM. The eligibilty is 75% in class 12. Cutoffs for my particular course was abouut 170-180 marks.

Faculty

3

The faculty student ratio is 12-13 profs per department. Some faculty are approachable, whereas some are not very approachable, although faculty-student feedback is available 24*7. The typical course structure ranges from 10-15% for quizzes (witha buffer ie, n-1, some profs do not give buffers, ie avg of the number od quizzes conducted). For pharmacy, the lab takes up about 20-25% of the grade. Mid-semester examination is about 30-35% (1.5hr- written), the end semester examintaion is about 40-45% of the course total (3hr). One of the components of the course is supposed to be OPEN BOOK ie students can carry their notes, slides and book depending on the professor. This component is approximately 10-15% depending on the professor. Courses are flexible and mostly dependent on the professor in charge.

Night Life

5

Night-life is pretty chill and safe, we are supposed to be in the college by 8:45PM. The college is located in a town so there are not much options for actvities outside the campus. There is no hostel in time. Library is accesible upto 11pm. Rotunda is one of the nicer hanging spots on campus including the saraswati temple.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The exams and their questions, I would rate the 8.5 out of 10 in term of difficulties because of twisted questions. In class their is always class test , assignments , and presentation which personaly I consider good to boost the confidence and presentation level. Teachers use both board and projector for teaching, it mostly depends on students how they want to learn. Companies like appollo come to tell us about them and how we can do better which is a good thing.
