Course Curriculum Overview

4

1. as I chose the electrical engineering course, my main influencers for this decision were that EE is an evergreen branch, and i had a personal inclination towards physics so yeah. 2. The curriculum in the first year covers vastly different topics from coding to mechanical, and we were taught tools like CAD , C C++ language and all, which I think were pretty relevant. 3. The curriculum could include AI and the latest technologies like blockchain, and all so that students could be better prepared for future job roles. 4. The frequency and timing are good.

Internships Opportunities

3

DTU attracts top companies for placements, but generally, companies don't hire in large numbers for internships, so only the top students get selected, and competition is very intense for securing one. Projects and knowledge of web development and DSA are very important for securing an internship. studens also get hired in finacne and tech roles as well.

Placement Experience

4

students become eligible from 7th semester that is from 4th year. interships whereas start from 3rd year. major comapanies like apple amazon bain all visited the campus . almost 180+ companies visited the campus. highest package 85 lac from cse dept for swe role average package is around 15 lac. on average 70% students get placed my plan is to establish a business while in college and utilise the free time to learn more about the world.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for BTech 2024-28 are: 1ST YR: 2,36,700 2ND YR: 2,46,700 3RD YR: 2,66,700 4TH YR: NOT DISCLOSED breakup of fees TUTION: 1,47,300 STUDENT WELFARE: 20,000 FACILITIES AND SERVICES CHARGES: 36,000 ECONOMIC WEAKER SECTION FUND: 10,000 EXAMINATION FEE: 15,000 DTU MEDICAL FEES: 700 THE FEES ARE THE SAME FOR ALL CATEGORIES UNLESS YOU HAVE A SCHOLARSHIP. Scholarships dtu merit cum need schoalrship for students with good acdemic performance and income below 4.5lac. Almost partial or full tuition fees are waived off. DTU also provide a scholarship for batch toppers

Campus Life

4

annual engifest held in february generally technical : invictus held in february only before engi there are lac+ books available mostly technical and related to curriculum. classrooms have ac and smartboards.

Admission

I applied to NUST and NIT Hamirpur, other than this. I chose DTU because of its prestige, and over NUST DTU has better infrastructure and sports facilities so which made me finalise DTU over the alternatives I got rejected from IIT and other top colleges, mainly becos of my rank only. so with almost 98 %, ile dtu was my best bet. The admission process is through JAC counselling. Here, you need at least 60% in boards for eligibility. The Exam accepted is JEE Main, and the cutoff is generally high and differs vastly for different categories. My admission process was relatively smooth and easy.

Faculty

3

The Faculty To Student Ratio 1:70 Kind Of. The Faculty Being Approachable Depends On The Person And Varies From Faculty To Faculty, But Most Of Them Are Generally Welcoming And Approachable And Are Ready To Help. I Liked Sameer Sir, He Was Very Enthusiastic And Used A Lot Of Examples For Teaching Physics. He Connected With Every Student And Kept The Classes Fun And Engaging. Sameer Jain Ashish Sir Tomthang Our Maths Teacher For Sem 2, Were Some Of The Best Faculties I Had I Didn't Like My Dsa Teacher He Was Pretty Harsh And Although The Students Were At Fault But He Too Gave Pretty Harsh And Vague Judgements And Punishments, But In The End, He Did A Nice Gesture. There Are Two Major Exam Sessions, One Midsems And One End-Semester In Each Semester. Midsemesters Are Easy To Sail Through, But Endsems Are Pretty Hard And Equivalent To The Reputation The College Should Maintain. 4-5 Students Fail, I Guess, But It Depends On The Particular Subject. The Course Curriculum Is Pretty Relevant And Is Mostly Comparable To The Iits.

Interview Experience

"The Sudent Intake Is Too Much . On Fests Or Something The Coolege Gets Too Clustered Especially Engisfest. The Student Teacher Ratio Is Very Low Means 1 Teacher Per 70 Student Is Not At Par. The Administration Is Not Professional And Pucntual With Results And Other Important Stuff."

Night Life

2

gym is okayish in dtu rather small compared to student strength in dtu girls have a seperate gym. there are hostels for each year and girls have a curfew of 11pm at night boys have no curfew timings. famous hangout place is DTU CAFE . no the locality is not genrally safe.

Placements are good especially during recession. You're eligible for placements after 3rd year. After 2nd Year you're eligible for Internships. All Big Companies like Google Microsoft Apple Goldmansachs Mckinsey etc. Highest package offered till now in 2025 is 85LPA (Atlassian) Average of CSE is 17 -18 lpa . almost 53% people get placed in 2025 (recession time). See The degree OF DTU has its value. So it gives you an edge while you go for off campus.

Placement Experience:

The placement rate here is around 70-75% on an avg in all branches and sometimes even higher. After 1st year only , multiple opportunities starts coming . After 1st year and before 2nd year , basically in summer vacation we have to do a compulsory internship (college also provides) and we are provided a credit for that . Then multiple opportunities like GOOGLE STEP ,amacon internship , etc come.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university doesn't beat around the bush while deciding the courses. They have picked only the subjects and the curriculum that are suitable for our field and focus on making us future-ready. Some subjects might seem a little fast-paced, but if you are consistent enough, you won't face any problems. It is safe to say that the exams and things taught in most the subjects are same to that of its so there is no lacking behind in that aspect.
