- The college's non-teaching staff is lazy, they act like they are working for free here, their behaviour with students is awful
Course Curriculum Overview
Nothing influenced me to take my cource, I was just good at this subject,tm the real life application of course is almost negligible, the improvements can be done through more internship and practical knowledge through field visit, the exams are not that hard.
Fees and Financial Aid
1st year approx. Rs8000 From the 2nd year it will be around 6000; you will get a fee waiver if your monthly income is less than 3 lakhs; just provide a ration card or income certificate while admitting. There are also self-financed departments in college; their fees are high. For example, in computer science, the yearly fees go up to 20k-30k.
Campus Life
There are fests almost every month, mostly during September-october The library is huge, almost all books, journals available There are smart classes, museum, and and a lot. The college has it ground for sports, annual sports festival also held. There are a lot o groups and clubs with in department, for example in political science department, we have electoral literacy clud.
Admission
This college is oldest college in the barak valley, and one the best in terms of research and academics. This is the most famous college in Barak valley, the environment and opportunities are quite good. I applied to cotton university but didn't get that because of my marks. The admission can be done through samarth portal of assam Government, cutoff are high for this college, in political science the last years cutoff was 80%
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is good, there are 5 professors in Political Science department, every student is attended properly, Phulante sir in our political science department is my favourite, his talkative and joyful nature is loved by students. HOD of political science department is quite rude sometimes, or else everyone is good. There is only mid sem exam and end sem exam, mid sem exam is mostly assignment, so no tension. And end sem exam is conducted by the university.
Night Life
There is gym facility available, which opens in the morning. There cafeteria which Don have much space and dishes but okay. There is boys and girls hostel available. There is famous tree in the middle of the campus, you can hangout at its shade. The college is the middle of the city so alot of hangout place and restaurants nearby to chill.
