What Students Say
Likes
- The startup ecosystem is too good here in our college. We have dedicated startup incubation centre for willing students.
- The central library is too big and has almost all the necessary books for academic and general interests from all the famous authors.
- There is idea lab , IoT lab, lifi labs and a lot of other labs also which enables students to show their creativity and skills
Dislikes
- The library is open for 16 hours a day and not for 24 hours
- The attendance criteria is strict and you have to maintain a good attendance otherwise you'll have to pay bond.
- The campus is 31 acres. If it would be 50+ then it would be better
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is highly relevant for industry. However few outdated things are also there in our education system but it is also necessary for building a strong foundation for studying recent technologies.
Internships Opportunities
PIET provides good internship opportunities through its strong industry collaborations and placement cell. Students from various branches have secured internships in reputed companies like Infosys, Hitachi, Novem Controls, Okie Dokie, and TCS iON. Most internships are offered during the pre-final year and are either paid or come with performance-based incentives. For example: Infosys offers internships in Software Development and System Engineering with a monthly stipend of 10,000–15,000. Hitachi provides internships focused on Embedded Systems and Control Engineering, with stipends ranging from 8,000–12,000. Novem Controls mainly targets Mechanical and Electronics students with roles in Product Testing and Quality Analysis, sometimes offering stipends around 6,000–10,000.
Placement Experience
The campus placements are above average. Many companies like infosys, hitachi, Capgemini visits our campus. And offer around 4-8lpa which is decent entry level package almost 50-60% students get placed. If you have done good projects then you'll get placed at higher package for sure.
Fees and Financial Aid
When I joined in 2022 the fees was 1,48000 for btech. Ece but I availed some discount due to which my yearly fees was 120,000(non increasing). Nowadays it is 1,80000 per year for BTech. But for early birds there is always a discount and if you're an sc/st students all you have to pay is 10,000 and rest will be paid by the government.
Campus Life
My overall experience with campus life at PIET has been engaging. The institute hosts several events throughout the year like TechVaganza, a national-level technical fest held in March, and PIET Quest The campus promotes a healthy balance of academics and recreation. There are excellent sports facilities for cricket, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and athletics.
Admission
I had a less percentile in my JEE mains (75%ile) and the colleges I was getting at this rank in our NCR region were below average and there were no labs , research facilities, placements and anything. Then I came to know about PIET and applied there and finally got admission
Faculty
Well I don't know the exact student to faculty ratio but the faculty members are enough for us. I like Dr. Pankaj batra , dr. Sapna arora a lot for their teaching style and their understanding .As the college is affiliated to kurukshetra University the exam is always on a bit higher side and you need to study well to pass the exam
Night Life
The nightlife around PIET is relatively calm and student-friendly. Hangout spots inside the college include the PIET Canteen, Biryani Point, and the open Food Court area, which is a favorite among groups during breaks.
Other Applied Colleges
Maharshi Dayanand University - [MDU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
The placements at mdu are very low.
