IGNOU being a Central University it has a a central management unit governing 5 zones. So courses and pattern of courses I continuously updated such that they are are coherent with the current education standards at the same time maintaining the simplicity of the course since it's an Open University it has a a highly flexible examination pattern . Subjects are credit based with stream related subjects of 4 credits and optional subjects of 8. For back maths 64 credits are required in a duration of 3 to 6 years with exams occurring twice every year so students can finish their course at their own pace and time.

Admission

IGNOU is a central university and it was established by the IGNOU act 1985 with a single aim to provide high quality and cost effective education to every individual of a country which was facing the problem of low literacy rate and in accessibility to good quality higher education. So firstly I researched a lot for institutions that provide good quality open courses and hence I came across few institutions and out of them ignou being a central university and also providing good quality education at reasonable fees had to be my obvious choice so i decided to pursue my bsc maths from ignou for which I filled it's online registration form and paid the due fees after which I got my identity card printed from the study centre situated near me.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The core subjects are very well divided, the main problem arises with the other additional subjects which requires efforts as same as the other subject even though they don't hold any importance as such. Maybe reducing other subject or making them practical based instead of theory based would be helpful.

The placements of my college are moderate as the average package is ?6.5 lakhs and the highest package is around ?23.02 lakhs . Many prestigious companies like delloite, accenture have held various placement sessions in DRC and it's overall a good to place for companies to get high skilled students. The placement cell is very active too which makes it possible for our college to get many internships and placements opportunities.

The placements cell Avenues regarding the placement offers coming to the college. Major companies of the job market come to the campus for recruitment like KPMG, deloitte, zepto, EY, ZS Associates and many more. The students from the final year itself gets eligible for placements. Around 30-40% students get the palcements through the placement drive. The highest package during the last palcement season was around 18 to 20LPA, while the average was 7 to 8LPA. I will certainly go for higher studies in operational research.
