Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is pretty good actually you can prepare for the course on your own because you will be provided with the notes in the starting of your semester either by your subject teacher or by your seniors. For practicals you will keep asking to your course teacher but they will most of the time just keep ignoring you so i would recommmend you to go ask your seniors in labs to help you train in labs. for this to happen you just need permission from the professor in-charge of that lab. Frequency of exams is something you wont be worrying about because end term will be after 5 months and in between that only once you will have your mid term exams and practical. Thats all.

Internships Opportunities

5

Actually the internship is provided by the university to the students all over india and if you are one of the topper in your class then they will send you for internship abroad too like australia, south korea, etc If you talk to you professors or seniors at the time of internship they can even help you to get internships in IIIMs, IITs, in many national laboratories and food or pharma related companies.

Placement Experience

2

Students are eligible for placemnt after third year. total 8 companies from local Food and beverage companies and agriculture related companie came for campus placements. Most of the student didnt take offers from the companies because none of the companies were offering more than 15k to 18k per month I also didnt take the placement offer for the same reason and now i am thinking for further studies from somewhere that have good placements Out of 23 students who were eligible for placements only 3 accepted the offer.

Fees and Financial Aid

total semester fee is around 58000 to 60000. (per semester) semester registeration fee 500 examination fee 1000 tuition fee 3000 extra curricular 1000 medical fee 200 magazine fund 100 libarary fee 900 infrastructure fund 500 water chrges 100 student welfare fund 500 self financing fee 49050 medical insurance 1050

Campus Life

4

Theris annual fest and then there is kisaan mela that take place 2 times a year these fests and fairs are pretty good and with them there is also many dance and singing performances. social aspect of the university is very good actually, every 2months or so there will be some prgramme or sports competition that you can alway participate. infrastructure of the universitiy is also top of the line, you get smart classrooms with digital notes provided to you by your faculty, fully air conditioned classrooms. Any book you need for your course, it is available in the library. the seating and environment of the library is also very good. It is weel maintained and fully air conditioned. There are also many social clubs and online student social groups that you can always join.

Admission

I applied for thappar institute, Chandigarh university and SKUAST. I was selected in chandigarh university and SKUAST but I chose SKUAST because it was really close to my home and second of all it was a govt. agriculture university. To get into SKUAST you have to give SKUAST JAMMU CET exam and on basis of it you can opt for you course of interest.

Faculty

3

Most of the faculty members dont take classes but they all are very aproachable it is just that they will always keep you hanging for a while even for small works but at last they will definetely help you one way or the another. due to this you can use your precious time to see the campus as it is pretty big and you can also go to the library or the labs to continue learning things. Exams are not that tough, you will et the course syllabus afor all you semesters at the starting and even if you go through the syllabus mentioned thouroughly you will be able to get good marks in your exams the only part that is a bit annoying about the exams is that your end term exams are dont have any breaks in them that means if you have given some exam today you will be giving the next exam the very next day without any days for preparation I think.

Night Life

5

There are many hangout spots in university like cafeteria, nescafe, shpping complex, small parks, gym, etc you get good connectivity to the main jammu city bys state bus that runs every hour or so from university. Just half a km away from the university there is a market where you can get anything you need. Also if you or any of your friends have your own vehicle then you can explaore the main jammu city which is only 6 to 8 km away from the university.

The curriculum provides me with Whatever is sufficient in my course and whatever knowledge I need, I will have more than that. Exam timing should be in the afternoon only because morning gets very late in coming due to which exam gets skipped, rest it is perfect

Course Curriculum Overview:

The forestry course itself is a unique course as it involves a major part that includes the practical stuff. The practicals aspect of this course attracts a lot of nature enthusiasts students. The curriculum helps a student for a a variety of tasks if he or she is from agricultural background. This curriculum should have some more importance to the upcoming technology such as AI. We have two exams and two classroom quizzes for each semester after every three months we have either end term or our mid terms.
