The college is in North east of india and there are a lot of things to visit nearby.
Well furnished air conditioned labs and classrooms.

Dislikes

College is very boring and don't have happening fests.
75 percentage attendance compulsory that makes it too hectic for 4 months semester

Course Curriculum Overview

The course provided by the Institute is quiete relevant to industry norms Courses like C language, DSA, AI, ML, OS, Database Management System , compiler design and many more. The courses make the base for the real world problem solving. And they are well designed. A little more time can be provided for courses for better understanding. Its like we are continusly giving exams because there are a lot of subjects and labs so always there will be some kind of exams

Class Size: 250Course Fees: INR 280000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Companies like Amazon, Atlassian, Flipkart, DeltaX, DE Shaw, and Cisco offer internships, mostly for software development, data analysis, and machine learning roles. There are also research internships within and outside the institute. Students go to different countries for projects, like my three seniors who went to Taiwan.

Placement Experience

When i came to college the placements were descently high. At that time placements were 99% and with highest package 1.2Cr . But after recession in industry the placement went down to 60% of CSE with average of 14.5LPA. And highest of around 52 LPA. One can also opt for masters after college. I might also do.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly tution fees is 275000 and mess fee is 33000 and hostel rent is 27500. Caution money is 5000 and is onetime and refundable. It is not increased yearly for the enrolled students. There are lots of scholarship for SC ST students. And there is loan policy too for students. It is bit pricy for middle class family.

Campus Life

There is not a lot of college life. Because it is an emerging college so no big fests are there. One can find relevant books from library but there are not lots of books. Digital classes are there with fully air conditioning and high speed internet. Many sports are present in this institute like cricket, football, badminton, chess, table tennis and other. But not a lot of equipments.

Hostel Facilities

Room is fully furnished with beds, cupboards , personal bathroom, table and chair. Hostel food is just average like other engineering hostel. One can get hostel easily while registration and they are affordable as there rent is 27500 yearly. On the NH there are lots of pg where one can easily accomodate.

Admission

The main reason was to explore north east india and in my percentile it was good and it had its own campus. So i choose this iiit Guwahati. I had applied for IIIT pune but i chose it because pune didn't had its own campus. One can take admission here after qualifing jee mains and have 20000 rank and at least 75 percent in CBSE board exam of 12th.

Faculty

Faculty is descent and they try there best to make concepts clear and anyone can go to them any time for doubts and projects. Course structure is quiet relevant and they teach us the emerging tech of the industry. Exams are hectic because we have 4 months semester and in it 2 quiz one midsem one endsem for each subject and midsem endsem for labs and regular evaluations in labs too. Faculty to student ratio is descent and is 1:17 and faculties are quiet open to any discussions I should not write any faculty's specific name but all are good Exams are bit difficult but there is relative grading so one can pass it with descent study

Night Life

There is no nightlife except studies. Because there is nothing a lot to do. But any one can goto gym and play indoor sports. There are lot of clubs but most of them are dead. There are no restrictions on hostel. Just the college gate close at 10 pm It safe to roam inside. And there are no such beautiful spot to sit and hangout inside the college.

Placement Experience:

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.

Placement Experience:

The placement of this university is not upto the mark. The highest package recieved by a student was 37 LPA. He was an ECE student. The average LPA is around 6-7 LPA. I think it's a bit low compared to NITs/IITs. But compared to other central and state universities its quite good.

Our college has one of the best placement record in India From 7th semester you can apply for placements and there is cpi cap for attending some interviews The highest package in the year 2023 is 2.4 crores and lowest was 5.2 lakh Avg package is around 21.15 lakh which was amazing As expected of a teir 1 college Many tech gaints like Amazon, IBM , Microsoft etc visited for recruitment Around 639 jobs were offered Many different roles and profiles were offered in these placement recruitments like Software Development Engineer, Member Technical Staff, Design , R&D, Developers, Data Science,Business Analyst, Associate Product Manager, Marketing Manager, Analyst,Graduate Engineer Trainee, Post Graduate Trainee, Technical Executive etc... 1)Students become elgible from 3rd year for Pre-Placaemnt offer and and mostley placed by 4th year. 2)in tech field , all top MNCs come in thsi college including GOOGLE, FACEBOOK, AMAZON,NETFLIX and makes enough offer to pick up every CS student from campous. 3) Last year Highest package by 2Cr by a CS M.tech student from M.tech from UBER and everage is avout 30L for CS and little low for other Branches. 4)approx 90% placement and rest 10% are those who goes for highter studies and Civil servies 5)I will try to grab best placement out of all in IT sector only.

Placement Experience:

You are eligible for internship placement in the 5th semester and for the full time, you're eligible for campus placement in the 7th semester. 223 offers were made for 22 pass out students. Some of the companies that visited our campus are Amazon Deloitte ZS Associates Tekion Mindtickle Gamescraft. The highest package was 61.5 lakhs and the average package was 15.34 lakhs. 95.12 per cent of students got placed. My plan after college is to work as a software developer.

I choose this college because according to my jee mains rank it's the best college i could get. I had option for NIT kurukshetra civil and NIT jaipur civil but i wanted to pursue my career in ECE branch. Review of the college in north east

This college has a good curriculum and also great for going to research side I preferred this over the others I applied because the others had no permanent campus and were very far from home moreover some do not have good research programs .I preferred this college over IIIT pune IIIT kota and vit which gave me a confirmed admission.i got rejected from a few colleges like mnit allahabad IIIT lucknow and IIIT Allahabad because I did not reach its cut off ranks .the admission process is quite simple in my college it is done through jossa councelling of jee .u can get admission through jee mains it is the most preferred exam by the students and for cse branch u have to get above 20000 rank and for ece above 430000 this is for general male...Read More

Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG) is an institution of National Importance under an Act of Parliament (THE INDIAN INSTITUTES OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP) ACT, 2017). It offers B.Tech. courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE), M.Tech. courses in CSE and ECE and runs PhD programmes in ECE, CSE, Mathematics, and Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). IIITG started operations in August 2013 with B.Tech programmes in CSE and ECE. The first batch of B.Tech. students completed their programme in May 2017.
