What Students Say
Likes
- I like the hostel life in Central University, it's a peaceful place to chase your dreams.
- I like the timings of the classes which gives us the extra time to study.
- there are some sports activity in hostel which can be refreshing for a student. Although no guarantee the sports item will be available all the time.
Dislikes
- No high placement package for undergraduate programs
- it doesn't have any cultural activities which students might feel a little hectic about it
- some hidden fees are asked by the faculty. Students are paying 30 rupees for each subject to buy booklets for their internal examination and this doesn't come under the examination fee.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good actually, we have also asked to enroll in swayam NPTEL exams to get academic credits and these NPTEL exams are important for getting a degree in CUAP. Maybe more interactive teaching methods might increase the interaction between students and faculties.
Internships Opportunities
Most internships people get in here are from Ramoji Film City, students are allowed to take internships at their priority. Ramoji Film City does offer an internship with a stipend of 250 rupees per day for 45 days.
Placement Experience
There are placement opportunities offered in the University but it is pretty low compared to private Universities. Companies like TCS, jio mart, Ramoji Film City often visit here for placements. As far as I heard the highest placement offered was 6LPA to an economics student. I plan to do MBA after my Retail management course.
Fees and Financial Aid
the fee structure for Retail management and IT according to the year 2024-25 For Semester 1: admission fee - 700 computer lab fee - 800 examination fee - 1000 library fee - 600 student aid fee - 300 which sums up to 11600.00 for academics in Sem 1 Only academic fees differ for each student: For Undergraduate courses, the fees start from 8100 (BA political science) to 17445 (BBA) For Postgraduate courses, the fees start from 7950 (MA Telugu) to 53200 (M.Sc Clinical Psychology)
Campus Life
As I said there are no cultural activities going on. but there was a little Holi celebration that took place after some years. The library is one of the best things in CUAP, also there is a reading room with computer access, and also it's one of the most peaceful places to be in. There was a sports week held where student showed their massive participation and made it a success. There are student-run social groups like ABVP, SFI, ASA, etc
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is one of the most green flags here, I should say. It's a room only for 3 members with three 3 beds, 3 study tables, 3 wardrobes, 3 chairs, 3 study lamps with wifi connection with decent speed on each floor. The food was such a red flag to almost many students in CUAP, there is only a vegetarian menu, the food is not unlimited, and it's hard to find any taste in food, if you are lucky enough you might see some insects on your food during winter. It's possible for people to rent a room outside and there is also a University bus service offered in CUAP.
Admission
First of all, this is a Central University which means this is a Central Government University so it does hold a reputation. The admission process to join here is to write the CUET exam conducted by NTA and after your CUET scorecard is released, there will be online counselling where you can apply to the courses you wish for. After your scorecard is released, you must register here cuapcuet samarth portal to enrol in counselling.
Faculty
The faculty seems so friendly and supportive. Although, it doesn't mean everyone is good and capable of understanding the student's side, some are. There are 3 internal exams, best of 2 will be considered for internals for 30 marks, 5 marks for presentation, and 5 marks for attendance, the rest 60 marks is for the semester exam
Night Life
There is no gym here, people do engage in sports during the night, and there is also a container shop that offers refreshments but it's kinda high priced. The hostel curfew for boys is 10pm and for girls, it is 8pm. The most hangout spot inside the campus is the container shop I mentioned or there are shops right outside the campus where something is available to nourish ourselves.
