A simple review of RCSS

The main aspect that influenced me to choose this course is the exemptions you get for professional courses like acca. since the base level papers of acca are embedded into the bcom syllabus we recieve 9 paper exemptions. The curriculum prepares us for real world situations as they implement experiential learning methods . when it comes to improving the curriculum i would suggest adding more mathematical based subjects as having multiple theory subjects can get too boring. The exams are spaced out pretty well and their difficulty is not too high

first year fees is 2.05 Lakh, second year is 2.10 and 3rd year is 2.15. the college had an application fees of 400rs and also uniform payment and tuition fees mentioned above. My other batchmates are all paying the same amount

the campus life is pretty decent. nothing to really boast about. the college holds multiple fests. the main one being splendore. which is typically held in December. the college library is one of the best in the state i would say as it is around 17k sq meters and has a wide range of books from all subjects and other types of book.. the classrooms are very good with acs and charging docks for the students electronics. the teachers have access to a smart board that allows them to display the study material . and also use it as a canvas for teaching. Sports and extracurriculars are given almost equal importance to academics here in rcss. As long as you are willing to pursue them you will definitely get an opportunity as they hold multiple inter department sports tournaments and extra curricular competitions. There are not many student run socials groups or clubs. there are designated clubs for each department but many of them are not very active .

The hostel facilities can be described as just decent. the rooms have attached bathrooms, a small cupboard to be shared by two students and thats about it. They provide 5 varieties of meals throughout the week in rotation for dinner but the quality and taste is not upto standard for the money we are investing in the college. The registration process for the hostel is done along with the admission process and it is pretty straight forward. I would say the hostel is affordable but its not worth the money we pay.

i didnt apply to any other college as i was sure to get admission through a recommendation and my marks in 12th grade. i close this college as it is the top college of kerala . The admission process is pretty simple as you apply throught the website and await for the admission mail. after that you submit basic documents luke mark sheets identification papers etc. the admission process is very straight forward with no complications. the faculty guide you through the entire process

1:50, faculty is great with the students , forming personal connection with appropriate barriers and most of them are very approachable. i liked faculty members like Mrs Ebina and Mrs achamma alex as theyve been very supportive and helpful to me. there are not many faculty members you would dislike at this college. There are 3 exams each semester. two internals that are marked out of 50 and 1 end sem exam. the exams are at moderate difficulty and everyone passes the semester with not much difficulty. the curriculum is very relevant to the major we are pursuing

Classes typically end at around 430 pm and after that students can engange in sporting activities around campus as they have football, basketball, badminton, cricket and swimming pool areas. there is also two gyms for both boys and girls seperate. the campus itself doesnt have any cafes after college hours but there are shops outside the campus where students go to unwind and enjoy time with their friends. the campus gate closes at around 7 pm and the hostel curfews are at 830 pm. the best hangout spots inside the college is definitely skypiea the rooftop canteen. and around the college outside the campus there are ice cream shops and milk shake shops. The locality is also extremely safe for students as the majority of residents nearby are students.
