Course Curriculum Overview

5

Very relevant and useful course. Electives offered add to the overall utility of the degree. Most of the resources required are available online/made available online for ease of access. Mid Sems and End Sems happen once a Semester with the difficulty varying as per the subject.

Internships Opportunities

3

For this course you don't have SIPs. However support is provided by all the faculties in securing an internship. Research based internships are promoted, however other internships like marketing etc are also welcomed as long as the internship is in line with the curriculum.

Placement Experience

5

Campus placements start in the final year/ 5th Semester. Notable Companies like De Shaw, BCG, HSBC, PWC etc came for the placements. From my batch approx all the people who sat for placements got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly- 90k-1Lakh approx. First Year fees is on the higher end than Final Year. International students had it around 1.3Lakh/year. Scholarships are available. Merit based scholarships and co curricular scholarships are given second year onwards.

Campus Life

5

There are numeours inter departmental and inter deanery fests being held throughout the year across all campuses of Christ. This campus is very compact, hence more networking opportunities are there. There are numerous student run social groups ranging from Mental Health to Professional support helping out in various aspects of college life.

Admission

This college was my preference due to the location being Bangalore. BA Economics Honours as a course isn't widely offered across India and although I secured admission at DU, Delhi as a location wasn't suited for me.

Faculty

5

Very knowledgeable faculty. They don't sy away to engage in meaningful discussions about latest trends and are ready to incorporate new changes into syllabus. In a Semester, you have 3 Continuous Internal Assessment (1 being Mid Sems) and 1 Endsem.

Interview Experience

5

The topic for the Written Ability Test was around the Recession of 2008. The interview and extempore topics were economics based only. I prepared my Economics syllabus from 11th and 12th standard to ace the interview.

Night Life

5

The campus does not have an in campus hostel for females, but there are a good number of affordable and clean PGs at a walking distance from the campus. Being situated on the Bannerghatta Road, this campus has good connectivity both by bus and metro.

Performing Arts have more of practical things as from acting to direction we are taught everything. History and Theory as some theory part and the kind of career path that our course provides, I think for students interested in this, should join our course at Christ University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
