Course Curriculum Overview

4

The idea of doing a triple major in one degree is what motivated me to choose this course. English, Political Science and History are interlinked in many ways that we know. Also, the course was primarily curated to help aspiring students for the Public Service Examinations, UPSC and SSC. The course really does an amazing job is getting the students ready for competitive exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies like DE Shaw, Peyton Morgan, Ernest Global gave out internships. Even Political think tanks like Inclusive Minds, Independent Political Scientists gave out internship opportunities. Even the brand name of CHRIST, itself was a boosting point for Christites, given their achievements gave various internship opportunities for the students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year-wise fees - 70,000 (3 year course) Bengaluru local - 50,000 International Student - 1,00,000 Application fee - 750 admission fee - 5000 There are numerous scholarship aid available, including the one's provided by various banks like HDFC, ICICI, etc Also, the university provided its own scholarships based on merit and extracurricular activities, up to 10,000

Campus Life

4

The Library is very equipped and you can borrow various number of books. They also have online library facility where students can borrow ebooks. The university also has the facility to borrow books from other CHRIST Campuses in Bengaluru. The classrooms are well ventilated and advanced. They have digiboards and projectors to aid the teaching process. The campus has its handball, football, badminton, basketball teams and they represent the university at college, state and national levels. The campus also has NCC (National Cadets Corps) with various members in army, navy wings.

Admission

My first and only priority has been CHRIST University. i got through the Personal interview in first attempt itself. My main reason to only this college is its triple major programmes just like the one I registered myself it. Moreover the proximity of Bengaluru to my home state has also been the reason.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very approachable and kind. They are very understanding and helpful throughout college life, like dissertation, internships, higher education, and so on. Dr. Nayana George, Dr. Anns George, Dr. Shalini B, Dr. Sreemoyee Sarkar, Dr. Abhiruchi Ranjan are a few of my favourite proffessors who helped me a lot with my college journey. Coming to exams, they are moderate and follow the Bloom's rubrics. We have CIA 1, MSE, CIA 3 and ESE. CIAs (Continuous Internal Assessment) are submission based while MSE and ESE are are written exams. Some courses are purely submission based.

Interview Experience

5

I only had one Personal Interview round for my admission. They are very general questions about myself and few subject-specific questions. I took help from NCERT to prepare for the exam and they questions were very easy

Night Life

4

The CHRIST Bannerghatta campus has only accomodation facilities for boys on the campus and their in-time is 9:30 PM and they are very very strict about it. The have to mark their biometric attendance twice a day orelse are subjected to fine. The whole area is surrounded by pgs and hostels.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
