Course Curriculum Overview
I mean, I didn't choose this course. This was all I was left with. I am interested in a computer science major, so I thought this would be a great chance to pick up. The teaching methods are not what I expected. It seemed very normal, like it was nothing special to think about. The frequency of the exams are kept simple, and gives the students more than enough time to prepare.
Internships Opportunities
I have never been to an internship, as I'm just getting started. I am looking forward to joining intrnships and learning new skills to grow my skillset. Internships are a major part of college as it provides experience and hand on tips.
Placement Experience
Usually students from 6th semester to 8th semester are eligible for placements. Variety of companies have landed on our college for recruitment, namely, Amazon, Microsoft, Paypal, Walmart, Google, TCS Adobe, Accenture, Wipro etc. In 2023, the highest package offered was 1.02 Crores per annum. and the average seems to be at 9 lakhs per annum. I don't have the details of per company statistics. about 85% to 90% of the students get placed in VIT. My plans after degree would be to gain some work experience for 2 years and then pursue for masters.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am paying 3 Lakhs per annum on VIT chennai campus for CSE(AI & Robotics). The fee structure is standard for all 4 years. Some of my batchmates pay 4 Lakhs and 4.5 Lakhs which depends on their ranks in VITEEE. I find the fee to be expensive for the value they return, like this college is like every other college but, the fee alone is high.
Campus Life
We conduct 2 yearly main events namely, Technovit and Vibrance. Technovit is usually held during the September and Vibrance is held during February or March. People enjoy these event with crazy emotions. Every part of the campus life is encouraging the student to move forward in their lifes.
Admission
VIT Chennai was a easy pick due to its strong reputation in engineering, and infrastructures. The idea of AI and robotics seemed excited. Our college is known to be great in cultural fests and other extracurricular activities. Everyone must take on VITEEE exam in order to enter the campus, then the results decide their ranks, and their ranks decide their courses and fee structures. VITEEE consists of Math, Physics, Chemistry, Aptitude, English type of questions. Every student must have atleast 75% or above in their 12th boards for entry. I got selected for Shiv Nadar University but then i got rejected in the interview stage of the selection, thus I have decided to stick to VIT.
Faculty
It seems like there are a bit too much students for a faculty to handle. Hence, The faculty can't take individual care of the students. It's not like "I don't like this faculty because he was blah blah", every faculty deserves their position and I must respect that. Some faculties have good knowledge, but fail to teach it to the student properly. The exams are relatively easy to pass and getting a decent grade is easy. Even still, some fail in exams due to their weak spots. The first year programs are nothing related to your course, the main stuff starts later.
Night Life
My favorite spot would be the ac classrooms in block 3 as it provides all the happiness needed after a huge day of lectures. the class start at 8AM and go on till 6PM. Outside the campus, there is a restaurant where the food is really great for it's price.
