Overall Experience with IHMCT GOA

I would rate the course curriculam as relevant but with scope for improvement. It covers essential industry topics and real world applications and practical training. Most of the training provided might not be relevant to Indian standards, but the training and theory provided is as per international standards.

Some of the companies are as follows, Orchid hotel, ITC grand maratha, Taj Landsend, Oberoi hotels, Marriot hotels,etc Stipend used to depend on hotel to hotel. Some were free internship, some used to pay Rs. 500 and some Rs. 5000 at the most.

Placement start from 5th semister with hotels like, Taj, Oberoi, Marriots etc. visiting campus. The highest package was offered that time back in 2015 was Rs. 400,000/- and the average package was around Rs. 250,000/-. After graduation started working in a restaurant chain in Mumbai. Was selected in a campus placement in Saudi Arabia, but due to some political interferences at 2015, had to drop the idea. After some years, I transitioned my career to Data Science in 2024.

The fee structure for my course has been increasingly slightly each year, with tution fees and additional charges making up the bulk of the costs. For first year fees amounted to Rs. 85,900 the second year fees totaled at Rs. 76,560 and the final year stood at Rs. 74,800.

Campus life is vibrant with events like outdoor catering in casinos, weddings events, and some celebrity events. The library was well-stocked with a wide range of books and jouranls. Sports and extra curriculam activities are diverse, offering options for football like dempo football club. The campus had a balance of academics and social engagement. Also the campus was surrounded by greenary as the college was in support of Green environment.

I chose the college for its reputation, practical training and placement opportunities over others I appled to. The admission process was starightforward, based on JEE exams, with competitve cutoff. And as I was from Mumbai, the cutoff for IHM Mumbai was way much than my rank which I received in JEE exams. Initially got IHM Kozhikode but later changed it to IHM Goa as it would be ease to travel back home anytime.

The faculty to student ratio in my college was quite balanced, ensuring that students receive adequate attention. Most faculty members are approchable an supportive, always ready to guide students beyond just acedemics. The course structure was well designed, covering both theoritical and practical aspects about the industry. Exams are conducted in a structured manner, with written test, practicals and assignments and different task related to it.

Students chill at popular spots like malls, Panjim city, mapusa market, and other. Late night activites include group study, sports, beach walk and casual gathering. These experience make college life more enjoyable and socially engaging. For those who were staying in hostel, used to gather in the hotel hallway and gather and play some games and sing songs.
