Course Curriculum Overview

4

MBBS is a very demanding and dedicated course. It requires a lot of mental strength and resilience and also the ability to grasp things and remember it for a long time. This course also works on our practical skills. There is a lot of knowledge to gain and internship helps gain real world applications.

Internships Opportunities

5

As it is a medical college there are no placements, but 1 year internship is provided where students learn a lot and gain practical knowledge. They are posted across all departments to gain wide range of exposure.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure in my college is 65000 per year along with some additional fees for library, sports and labs. Overall the fees will be less than 1 lakh per year. Sc and ST students do not have to pay additional fees so it's just 65000 for them.

Campus Life

4

Our college conducts many events and the main ones are Kannada Rajyotsava, Ganesh Chaturthi, Annual Fest. There are a few clubs such as eco koims, pulse, etc and they conduct workshops and seminars. We have annual sports meet and also we are given opportunities to represent the college in RGUHS sports competitions.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are a bit old but we'll maintained. It is either 2 or 3 sharing rooms. They have attached bathrooms with geyser, cupboard, cot, study table and chair. The food quality is good and the menu keeps on changing. The hostel fees is paid per annum and also mess fees is paid monthly.

Admission

I had applied for many other colleges such as BMC, MMC, SIMS,etc. I had got PES Medical college in first round but then I got this college. I felt this college was comparatively better than PES as it was a newer college. I did not get other colleges due to high cutoff marks. The admission is based on NEET UG scores and KEA counseling.

Faculty

4

The college has ample number of teaching faculty who are well experienced and supportive. Exams are conducted frequently and these exams are very helpful. There are postgraduate students and tutors too who are also helpful.

Night Life

3

Our college has a gym, a central library with a great number of books and journals, badminton court, kabbadi volleyball and Futsal grounds. The gym is very well equipped. There is also a own book reading room. The hostels are very close to the college and are good. The campus is well lit. There are quite a few places to visit in madikeri.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
