- Mess food is good ofcourse not like home but not like typical mess food

- Curriculum is slightly tough, scoring CGPA is hard compared to other colleges
- weather is very hot in summer and very cold in winter
- College is far from city about 10 kilometres
Course Curriculum Overview
Mechanical engineering provide on hand work experience that's the reason to choose but experiment we do are already predefined The curriculum is old and books by which we are tough are of years 1980s and some are of 1960s the system is very outdated, for creating something new we have to study by ourselves. Exams are quite difficult even some students fails to even pass
Placement Experience
After 6th semister students is eligible for placement Company like microsoft, samsung, amazon, mahindra, L&T visited 85 % students got placed with average package of 15.85lpa I planing to do MBA for IIM .
Fees and Financial Aid
{Gen/obc/ews - 113600 Gen/obc/ews(income between 1to5 lac) - 46934 Gen/obc/ews(income less than 1lac) - 13600 Sc/st/pwd - 13600} This is fee for per semister. We can apply for scholarship given by govt or NGOs College don't provide any scholarship directly Also loan is available from SBI, and intrest of which college will give for 5 years.
Campus Life
Advitya(technical )is organised in February, zeitgeist(cultural) in month of October, aarohan (annual sports ) in month of March. Almost 5 to 6 newspaper are available in library and thousands of books and many journal. Classroom are equipped with AC , wifi and good furniture. We have 1 football ground, 1 cricket ground, 1 cricket net , 2 tennis court, 7 badminton court, 3 Gym (2 for boys and 1 for girls) . Lots of clubs like for movies , astronomy, photography, finance related, poetry etc.
Hostel Facilities
In 1st and 2nd year 2 seater room but in 3rd and 4th we get single room. In room we have study table , almirah, fan , wifi, balcony, Food is also of good quality, not like typical mess food , on occasions like diwali, holi,ganesh chaturthi etc special dinner is provided. We have to 10000 rs as one time fee and 1500 each year as hostel rent. No need to take room outside campus because sufficient room are available.
Admission
For getting in this college we have to give jee advanced exam and after that we have to do jossa councling I got hear based on my jee rank , choosing iit ropar was based on my preference list , i saw factors like average package, distance form my town, NIRF ranking etc.
Faculty
Faculty of mechanical department are very helpful and kind, you can directly go to their office or write a mail to schedule a meeting My favourite are dr harpreet sir , dr dhiraj sir They have very good knowledge in there respective field and their teaching style is very good. I don't like dr sachin kumar sir because Even after attending his class I don't understand much, I have to watch YouTube lecture for exam. Usually we have 2 quiz of 10 marks each , mid semister of 30 mark and end semister of 40 marks and 10 Mark for attendance assignment etc . Although it depends on course instructor how many exams he wants to take . Roughly about 0 to 6 students fails per course.
Night Life
Gym usually close 10 pm and opens at 5 am . Cafeteria Opens till 1 am and open at 10 am Canteen is open till 3 am . Hostel is open 24 hr , we can enter Hostel any time we want . There is a museum and a archeological slight in ropar also we hangout at bank of Sutlej river and dam. Outside is some kind of muslim slum which makes it risky for going outside campus at night, even sometimes delivery boy are afraid to come to campus at night
