Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus is not too lengthy and is completed in time . The curriculum i must say is average. Few practical classes or presentations could have included for better understanding of the lessons. Exams were held timely and exams were a bit difficult.
Fees and Financial Aid
I was provided with free admission as I had the Below Poverty Line card. I had to pay a minimum fee of around 700-800 every semester only. I got this benefit by showing my parent's income certificate.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is not quite well. Even facilities were lacking. Every year annual college week is held Which can be improved as not properly done. No such Festivals are conducted in Gauhati Commerce College.
Admission
Gauhati Commerce College is one of the best colleges for commerce learning in northeastern India. And yes it is one of the famous colleges as well. Therefore I chose the best college available for me back then.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is good. But not all faculty members provided good guidance. Management and business department teachers were fine. But a few elderly professors were rude. Exams were average and sometimes tough. There is a subject of business maths and a lot of students suffer backlogs in this.
Night Life
There's no night life in our college. No girls are allowed after 6 on the college campus. Even functions used to end by 6-7 pm in the evening. There are no good hangout places in the campus and the outside campus isn't very safe at night.
