Remarks
The college is very friendly towards newcomers. I love the culture and teachers here. The union never disturbs anyone, people think that this is a politics driven school. But that would be a lie. Not one union member came to tell us to join them. And not one bad incident or quarrel occurred. Management is also fine.
Course Curriculum Overview
The courses are fair. Research and practical works are given priority. The exam structure is based on CU guidelines. The tests and internals are well-timed. The timely nature and pressure to do good make me a meticulous and time-efficient student. The college takes care of each and every one of us.
Placement Experience
No, internship for me or us, yet. I've heard companies come for placement. But haven't experienced yet.
College Events
Saraswati puja, freshers and social occur every year. Also, sports event occur. Blood donation camps are organized. Teachers and students all take part in the occasions. I sang and played the guitar with a band. Chess and Table tennis tournaments are also organized.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Around 7500 was my first-semester fee. Food and lodging cost me another 6000 per month and around 1000 for a personal tutor. All in all the food is cheap. I live in a pristine mess so the rate is justifiable. The college doesn't have its own hostel. But there are ample of them available nearby.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
No, I haven't availed a loan or scholarship. But the college offers a scholarship towards SC and OBC candidates.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is a tad bit high for the female to male. Campus life is calm. No ragging over occurs. Everyone is pleasant and seniors happy to help. Sports are highly valued. College owns a field. Has table tennis and carrom boards. Students from all over the West Bengal and also India come here and study in unison.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are really really helpful and good. They treat us like brothers and joke around. And even help us in practical work.
Admission
The college takes admission on the basis of marks obtained at the 10+2 level. It normally occurs at the same time as other colleges, no tests are taken. A mark of 85% should secure you a seat. Also, wait for the later lists because the college makes a lot of them to fill the seats.
Faculty
They are brilliant, in some cases even overqualified in their fields. Our HOD was a teacher in Europe and has a royal fellowship. Others have their PhD. All the teachers are loving and hard-working. The faculty helps u to be the best of your abilities.
