Course Curriculum Overview

4

To heal patients is the main reason what we are into . It was my dream to pursue MBBS and here I am . We as a future doctor have to go from tremendous pressure workload stress to be there for patients .Treating and during them during these 5.5 years . An MBBS student has to learn 19 subjects to add the prefix Dr in front. Teaching methods are being improved under MUHS, which is our state university, by adding postings and had on experience since 2nd prof of our degree. The exam difficulty level is moderate to hard. 3 hours of theory exams followed by practical exams are there to test our knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship will be for 12 months. It will be divided into various clinical departments. You have worked hard in these 12 months, simultaneously preparing for the NEET PG exam. Blood collection , Vital monitoring , Central line , Urinary Catheterization , Handling emergency cases , handling medicolegal cases such as accident rape murder are taught in internship .

Fees and Financial Aid

I come from the general category. So my fees are around 1 lakh 20 thousand. For each year of the course, there is a 10% increase in tuition fees, which is around 10 to 15 thousand for a new batch. For example, my batch is 2022, and my fees are 1 lakh 20 thousand, but a batch of 2023 will have 1 lakh 30 thousand (Per year basis) For Reservation, tuition fees are excluded; they have to pay around 15 thousand per year. For the EWS category, 50% of the tuition fees are to be paid. For the scholarship, the Academic section of our college, which is located on our Campus itself, is to be visited

Campus Life

4

We have many extracurricular events running during our academics. Events named as ASTITVA aka SANGHARSH ANTRANG KURUKSHETRA SHIVJAYANTI Library of our college is work in progress now . There are books personal cupboards sections to keep your valuable and books is available . Various clubs are there in our college like DANCE CLUB TREKING CLUB DRAMA CLUB BOOKS CLUB These are student-run clubs on our campus. Various opportunities have been given to students under these clubs.

Hostel Facilities

2

This is an honest review for a hostel. No facilities are given in your room especially boys hostel. You have to bring your bed and all the other stationary that you need. Meal quality is poor. But it's cheap, and in MUMBAI, no one can get these things cheap. Cheap things are affordable but less durable, as they say. To rent a house in Mumbai, you should belong to an upper-middle-class family. Rates are very high here. Around 16000 Rs per person per month with 50000 Rs deposit is standard for 1 RK in 3 people sharing a flat. You can rent nearby in Byculla, Lower Parel.

Admission

According to a list published by the Maharashtra State Medical Council, my state rank was 590. I belong to the general category, so my preference list was Mumbai College, Pune college, and then my home town, Kolhapur college. From Mumbai, I got this precious college. Rejection doesn't happen here. You have to fill out your preference list, and you will be selected by your criteria by the government, whose list will be published on the website.

Faculty

5

Faculty for every department is different, with HOD as head, followed by professors and nonteaching staff. PG students are also helpful during postings and rounds. 1st Prof to 4th prof we are divided into. Preclinical subjects to Clinical subjects are taught here in these prof. We have to give 4 exams every year, out of which 3 exams are internal and 1 exam is of university. You have to study very hard. the role of teachers and pg students is to be pioneers in these exams to teach and to evaluate your knowledge in exams. Our college has the advantage of having the best faculty and supporting staff to be gained.

Interview Experience

4

All MBBS students from India have to face the NEET UG examination and score well. 3 subjects Physics Chemistry and Biology are there in 720 mark examination , it is a 3 hour MCQ examination. After this, the Maharashtra state council released a list of students. Then you get admission to medical college.

Night Life

4

Mumbai is very safe in terms of nightlife as compared to other metro cities. Our campus comes under OLD MUMBAI. Writing about gyms , in Campus we have Navyug gym for students . Outside campus we have Sadguru Mission fitness gym . We have 4 main hostels OLD BOYS HOSTEL LADIES HOSTEL APNA BOYS HOSTEL RM BHATT BOYS HOSTEL For MBBS students. Timing is very much restricted to LADIES HOSTEL compared to boys hostel. Hangout places are BCR LCR, various canteens, and the great anatomy hall. Outside the campus we have many places to visit.
