Course Curriculum Overview

4

Well treating people felt great to me that is why I chose this and the curriculum was revised in 2019 . Clinical postings start from 2nd year itself and are followed by post end exams..which assess you clinical calibre in every subject that requires clinical skills as well as patient management. The exams are frequent like we have an internal or 2 internals followed by prelims and then after a month or two we have the university exams. Teaching never misses out, there is always a faculty or if not, the resident doctors that are involved in patient management is wards dedicated to various professions (eg medicine ,surgery and so on)The paperwork and obtaining signs for completion is a hassle but understandable considering the busy work involved in handling so many patients all day

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship is rotation type with fixed time spent in each department that caters to patients eg u have some time in medicine some in Obgy and so on so that u have exposure to all the departments that handle patients. It is a paid internship with around 18 k per month and u get to learn all the things that are involved in treating or managing the patient.even if you don't understand something the residents are generous enough to help you

Fees and Financial Aid

I come from the open category so I can mostly speak about open category fees, which was 90k for every year except 2nd yr for which it was 130000,for ews quota the fee is 40 k per year.for sc/st it is 1500.you also have to pay a library fee which is around 5 k per year. The hostel charges for boys hostel is 4000 per year

Campus Life

5

The biggest festival is sangharsh.this year they had a Gajendra Verma concert and samay Raina standup comedy. Both of these are entertainment heavyweights.along with this we have Antarang that celebrates the state's culture.sangharsh also has dance and singing competitions and much more. For sports we have Kurukshetra which is filled with almost every big sport and even some small ones like arm wrestling too. Try football cricket badminton volleyball chess carrom table tennis kabaddi kho kho and so many others. GMC Students association is elected by a selection committee that includes the dean, we also have many interesting clubs like dance and reading and many more

Hostel Facilities

4

Well the annual fee of boys hostel is 4K per year. It has two hostels RM and apna boys hostel. There is also an old boys hostel that is located far away from these hostels that houses first years.hostel canteen has a few items like paneer dishes and vegetable dishes and also nonvegetarian options along with Thalis . There are other hostels in the campus too with more varied choices. During the admission process in administrative building you can enquire about the hostel and there is a hostel office near the apna and rm hostel that allots rooms . It is difficult for those travelling from Mumbai suburbs to get a room here

Admission

In 2019 you could easily get this college under state quota for 600 marks in neet ug and 660 for all India aspirants. This college was the first in my list of preferences under state quota because of relatively less peer pressure that allows you to enjoy your life with studies without affecting academic performance.the campus is big so you can have nice stroll visiting all the departments scattered all over.you need high marks in neet if to get this college.all India 6k rank is the bottom line to get here under state quota and up to 1k all India rank for all India quota aspirants.I had kem as an option too but I would recommend this because I never felt suffocated here

Faculty

5

Faculty are approachable. Many of them even become like our friends. we can always sort anything that is bothering us in terms of concept grasping or clinical skills. You can always ask them and they will oblige even more than you would expect

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is highly planned and very vast. Regular revision is necessary to caver all subjects. All subjects are taught with high practical basis hence ensuring exposure and preparing for real life exposure. Teaching could be more consise and logic based. Main exams are every 2 to 3 months with difficulty slightly higher in term 2 than term 1.
