Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is perfect for architecture students as studio and theory subjects are balanced. The college had a very practical curriculum, as for architecture the curriculum worls best as it makes the student understand the practical world better. As it is a revised curriculum there is no need of an improvement. the difficulty levels in exams are moderate and easier if the understanding is better.

Fees and Financial Aid

Hindustan University provides a 5 years Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) course to the students. To get admission to this course, aspiring students must meet the minimum eligibility requirements - 50.0% in 12th. The total cost for this course is INR 650000.Besides tuition fee, students are expected to pay a one-time admission fee of INR 8500. The fees for one year would range from 1.3 to 1.8 lakhs and 2.5 lakhs for NRI students. The management fees for a year would be 2 lakhs.

Campus Life

4

There are yearly cultural events and they come by different names, Each department has symposiums for each year and they nourish with both knowledge and cultural events. student councils, social clubs, dancing clubs are present. The college encourages sports alot and has a separate sports qouta and has a basketball court, badminton court, football ground and even for cricket.

Admission

I applied for vit vellore and got into the college but didn't end up there because of the distance and because of the expensive hostels. Hindustan was a better option in chennai as for the fees and distance.

Faculty

4

faculties are very well educated and the student to teacher relationship is the best part. As they understand the students needs and nourish them with knowledge. The way of teaching is also very practical so that everyone understands. There are two internals for a semester and one final semester exams. the internals are calculated for 50 percentage and rest for semester exams.

Night Life

3

The college is in the outskirt of chennai. But still has a very happening environment. The area has a foodstreet, many restaurants, local food kiosks. The college has a huge library and accessible till 8pm. The cafeteria ia accessible till 11pm and has door delivery for hostel students. Also has a gym inside the campus. Students arent allowed to roam past 8pm in the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The duration of the course is 5 years with 10 semesters in total. I think this is good period of time to learn architecture. Each semester has five theory subjects and one design subject. The design subject deals with designing buildings with given brief without any plagiagrism. The other five theory subjects are quite easy other than the subjects that involves maths, which requires practice and learning. all the nine semesters are quite conceptualized, whereas the internship semester gives an idea on how the real world of architecture industry works. Though the syllabus is old all over india, it might be for betterent if the practical learning is involved in all semesters.
