COLLEGE LIFE AT IIIT VADODARA (24-25)

The curriculum in strictly related to subjects that could be benefitials in IT sector. Subjects like chemistry and basic civil engineering are never tought. Physics is only tought for one year and Basic electronics /electricaal engineering and HS for two years . The rest is all related to computer science and maths.

3 lakh per year as tution few+ 64k per semester for hostel. There are several scholarship available by state Governments and national governments. The fees is same for all categories. Hostel is compulsory for two years ie 4 semesters.

The institute does not have it's own campus. It currently opperates in GEC, Gandhinagar which has very poor infrastructure. IIITV has been alloted a separate block there which has better labs than that of GEC but is still isn't what you expect. The distance between the college and Hostel is about 10 Km. The Institute does provide a bus service but It is very frustating. There are almost no sports facility at the hostel.

My college is very close to my house, about 40 km far. I chose it because it was an Institute of National Importance and is partially funded by the government and it had a good placement statistics. And also because I was getting my desired course there.

the factuly to student ratio would be about 1:60 , and there are additional Teching assistants who are either seniors or post graduation students who help you perform various lab experiments and projects. There are 3-5 teaching assistants per subject. There are two exams in one semester for practical courses and one for lab exams.

There is no nightlife. The hostel is located in the outskirts of gandhinagar. You might even not find basic utilities around your hostel. You can not go out of hostel after 11pm without gatepass. There isn't even a proper concrete road outside the hostel .
