Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is best designed for Bsc students after this you can go in teaching field and research field. They give us knowledge of such level. Also after qualifying IIT Jam exam you can can go iits for masters. But the course is not designed basically for industry hence they don't have any placements in companies. In my time there was no placement cell but there is now a placement cell and by contacting them you can get placed if you efforts some extra. Some departments like chemistry, physics, zoolgy, botony, maths provide some placements now. After graduation you can go masters then for phd and can live a good researcher or professor life. Some improvements can be done in the course and can be designed for placements in companies so that students who wants a job can get from campus placement then it will be top class. Sometimes gaps between two semester exams are given very less so time table of exams can be designed in better way. Some teachers teach very badly and it is important if it can be improved so that sudents can get interest in subjects

Fees and Financial Aid

In first semester fees was 2875 and also they deposit 2000 security money also which is refunded at the end of the course. In the second semester fees was 325.Hence the total fees for one year is around 3500 for each year, hence it totals around 10000. Which is affordable for each one. There is no benfit of reservation in fees it is same for everyone. Everyone has to pay equal fees. And there is no extra examination fees all is included in this one. You can avail scholarships for you state or national level scholarship. Generaly BHU do not provide any scholarship but if someone is very poor then they can get scholarship and for that you have to visit controller office they will tell you the procedure.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is fantastic at Bhu. The campus has greenary lashed with too many trees. The campus is beautiful and it is Asia's second largest campus. The campus has Vishwanath temple and Madhuban where you can hangout. There is Iit Bhu in campus. The hostel life is fanastic. I prefer everyone to stay in hostels if you get chance for atleast one year. Each hostels has 2 to 3 messes and cantene also and they provide good quality food on affordable price. There are enough tea stall where juniors and seniors meet. There is broacha ground for science and every year agas sports programs are held across all games. Also faculty level tournaments are held in games like football, cricket, kabaddi, badminton and many. You can participate at university level by giving trials. Events like aakansha are also held every year where you can participate in dance, singing, essay writing, comedy, face of fest and many more. The central library is asia's biggest library where every type books are available for you to read. Also there is cyber library with more than 600 computers. Some festivals like diwali, holi, janmastami, sarswati pooja are also celebrated. Some interhostel and intrahostel sports programs are also held.Overall campus life is beautiful at Bhu.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel life is very good. Each hostel has 2 to 3 mess and a cantene. In one room two students have to stay. Rooms are not big but have enough space to stay. For Bsc first year Ramakrishna Hostel and for 2nd and 3rd year there is broacha hostel. The quality of mess food is also good enough and they have different menu for different days. The hostel fees is also very low around 3000 per semester which is affordable. If you have good marks then you can get hostels. Hostels are placed near to the departments which is best part. In hostels there are indore sports like carrom, badminton, chess you can play. Overall the hostel life is best part of it.

Admission

At our time each university was counducting there entrance exam and I applied to 3 to 4 universities like Allahabad University, Delhi University, BHU and I got admission in Allahabad and Bhu but due to better ranking of BHU I joined it. The eligibility criteria is that you have read maths, physics in 12th.12th appearing and passed can apply. At our time the exam held was of 450 marks containing subjects physics, mathematics, geography. The cut off for general was 180 for obc around 160 for sc, sc around 100 numbers out of 450.But now cuet exam is held and that is common entrance test for all central universities, you can check cut offs on google or YouTube they are easily available. After qualifying exam you have to apply for counselling in portal of Bhu whose website is Bhuonline.in and after applying you will get call letter then you have to reach that place as metioned in call letter in Bhu campus for document verification. Then pay the fees and your admission will get confirmed. If you have less marks then you can get admission through paid seat where fees is around 40000 per year. Overall admission process is very smooth.

Faculty

4

Faculty member are equipped with high quality of knowledge. Some faculties are from top iits and IISC also. They are very helpful to students also. Some faculties are rude also but this number is very lesa so don't worry. Exams are held semesterwise. Semester is of 5 to six months. They take mid term exam of 20 marks after 2 months start of semester. 10 marks are decided on the basis of class performance and attendence. And 70 marks for end term exam. Some teachers have bad marking but mostly have good marking. Some faculties in department of mathematics like Ashish Upadhyay, Harish Chandra, Krishnendu Bhattacharya, Shashikant mishra, Akhilesh Yadav are very helpful well knowledgeble have a decent character. 2 to 3 faculties were bad also I can't mention the name due to privacy reasons. In B. Sc (hons) you have to read three subjects for 2 years like I read Physics, Math, geography in which one you have to chose as a honors subjects and in third year you have to read only one subject and that is honors is subject. I read mathematics as it was my honors and also you make change in honors subject in the start of third year. Exams are not very touch by solving previous year papers of last 3 to 4 years you can get very goot marks. Some students fail but this number is very less.

Night Life

4

There is big gym in campus where more than hundred can perform at once. Big central Library and cyber library with more than 600 computers. The central Library opens at 9am and closed at 9pm.While cyber library is now opened for 24 hours. Campus is generally closed at 6pm basically teaching and department all other things like tea stalls, fruit shops are closed around 9pm. The boys hostels are more flexible basically they are open at everytime but gat closed at 11pm and opens 5 am but you can go out at nights also by just signing on register. But in girls hostel they are closed at 10:30 and opens at 5 am. And timings are followed here strictly. You have to give proper reason to outside in night. There is Vishwanath temple and madhuban park where you can hangout. You can hangout in nights also but mostly at 11 to 12 pm.

I would rate the b sc mathematics course curriculum as good in terms of relevance. It covers all the important foundation topics such as algebra , calculus real and complex analysis and differential equations , which are essential for higher studies and competitive exams . The curriculum also include applied subjects like statistics and compute applications which add to its real world relevance .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum 10/10. I choose this course because a bsc degree gives you too many opportunities to do specialization in any field like zoology botany chemistry. Many BSc students choose to pursue further study, which can lead to a more specialized job with better salary, success. Bsc biology prepares you for Research and development: You can work in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, education. You might work as a research assistant, research technician, or clinical researcher. Education: You can teach biology at a university or work in postsecondary education. The improvements required in the course curriculum and teachings methods are : To focus more on helping the student understand the theory well rather than giving them a big practical file to make . The frequency and timings of exams are perfect. Odd sem are held in November, they are theory papers and are of 3 hours .The even semester exams are held in May and are MCQ based questions and are of 1.5 hours.

I can say the best thing about their pattern of examination is that there is 50 mark mcq question paper and then 50 nark subjective question paper which prepare students for most of the competitive exams they have to face for their higher education. Difficulty level of the examination is moderate. If one can listen to the lectures of the teachers they can easily qualify competitive exams.
