IIIT Dharwad College Review 2025

The curriculum is kept up-to-date with regular changes. The curriculum is upto the industry standards with labs being held every week with labs assignments to test every student skills. The number of exams depend on the number of electives taken plus the number of core subjects (depends on the semester but usually like 4-5). The exams are held every two months in a semester ( Mid semester and End semester exams)

The students become eligible for placements in the 3rd year of their B.Tech course. Big companoes like Oracle, Nvidia, Microsoft and Google visit the campus along with other companies like TCS , Infosys etc. The percentage of students placed is above 70 percent.

Institute Fees - 1,67,400 (1,77,400 in first semester and 1,67,400 in the rest of the seven semesters) Hostel Fees - 45,000 (Increases 3000 in second year and 2000 in third and fourth year) Caution Deposit - 30,000 (Only at the time of admission)

Sangeet is the cultural fest held on this college every year and recently the college hosted it's first ever hackathon which was called Hack2Future. Each classroom has a TV and bigger classrooms are equipped with a projector screen. Sports infrastructure is still under development but the college has performed well in the inter IIIT sports fest. Their are a lot of cultural and technical clubs which hold interviews to allow freshers to join the clubs.

The hostel rooms are equipped with four beds, four desks and four almirahs. The rooms are medium in size not too big not too small. The mess food is good in taste and the menu is diverse. Their are sweets everyday in the menu after dinner. The hostel toilets are cleaned everyday.

The exam accepted for the college is JEE Mains, a score above 96 percentile will get you in this college. I got admission in IET Lucknow and DTU (mechanical branch) but chose this college as I wanted to purse a career in the IT sector.

The exam are of moderate difficulty. The faculty to student ratio is good. Each student has their own faculty advisor they can talk to. Dr. Siddharth R sir is one of the best faculty in the college as he is very friendly and teaches the subjects in a very easy to understand manner. One could score good marks in the exam even by paying attention in the classes.

The college canteen is open till 2:00am in the night so students can get a snack even at that time. The college has a KRC( Knowledge Resource Centre ) where student scan sit down and study in silence. The college library has many books related to the courses. The gym is also open from 7:00am to 12:00pm so students can use the gym as per their schedule. Famous place inside the campus is the pond. The campus timings is 9:30pm after that students are not allowed to stay out of the campus.
