Remarks

The college is based in a prime location in the city with easy access to Western and Central Railways. The connectivity by road is also great. This make commute very easy and convenient. The faculty is always pushing students to it's full potential and out Principal Dr. Hemlata Bagla is very encouraging be in academics or extra curriculars.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is based on the one prescribed by Mumbai University. For the first two terms the course feels dry because it's very theoretical but from second year onward the remaining four semesters are fun and very practical.

Internships Opportunities

They do not provide internships but you can find one by yourself and the department will provide you an approval letter. Personally, I had interned with Saifee Hospital after my second year. Other students from my batch interned at hospitals like Hinduja and Bombay Hospital.

Placement Experience

2.5

There are no placements on campus. Students pursing biology courses usually go for further studies like MSc followed by PhD. Hence, colleges don't have placements on campus.

College Events

5

The Department hosts its own annual Microbiology exhibition/workshop called 'Microfiesta-Meet the Microbes'. Other than that KC College has its own annual intercollege festival called 'Kiran' and other departments carry out their own departmental festivals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

KC College is a government aided college hence the fees is low and affordable. It is a very feasible fee structure and does not require any loans.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does not provide scholarships and loans are no needed since the fees is a bare minimum. At the end of 3 years meritorious students receive cash awards based on their merit and rank.

Campus Life

4

Laboratories are up to date with all needed equipment and properly ventilated with medicinal kits in every department. Their Microbiology lab can accommodate a batch of 30 students at once and Chemistry Lab can accommodate about 60 students at once. The college has it's football team, KC Rotract Club and NSS unit. The cultural committee is called S.C.O.P.E.

Hostel Facilities

3

The college does not provide any hostel facilities but there are PGs around in the area.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is huge, some eminent names are displayed on KC's wall of Fame. The Alums come from time to time and share their experiences with the students and students are allowed to contact them directly either via social media or phone numbers,

Exam Structure

The course has a semester system i.e. 2 terms per year. Exams are split as 25 internals and 75 theory paper. Every practical exam is 100 marks each. The first year comprises of 5 subjects, namely, Microbiology, Chemistry, Botany/Zoology, EVS and Foundation Course. Second year has 4 subjects, namely, Microbiology, Chemistry, Foundation course and EVS. The third year is purely Microbiology, 6 papers.

Admission

I got admission at K.C. College purely through merit, i.e. based on my HSC percentage. The admission process was simple: First I filled in the Mumbai University form for colleges. After the results were declared I took a print out of the online application form for KC College along with the other required documents and submitted them in college. By June 25th our semester had begun.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty at KC College is very energetic, hardworking and helpful. Dr. Sejal Rathod is the Head of Department for Microbiology. Other faculty members include Dr. Pratibha Shah, Mrs. Rajitha Satish, Ms. Ameena Dholkawala to name a few. They are very compassionate towards their work and continuously push you to bring out the best in you.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's average or below average in term of real world experience curriculum there no such thing. Teaching is not bad there are big screen in class to teach from and blackboard. But most students don't know anything about the real world projects and techniques. Syllabus is controlled by mumbai University is too told and does not have any use in real world industries which need to be changed and most important since IT sector is something which advances and changes each year

Course Curriculum Overview:

I\n Chose this course in specific this college.Because first of all , it was afforrable as compared to others institutes.I can say that we weren't getting any experience which can prepare us for the real world experience like we were made to sit in workshops which was not at all connected to our curriculum. And then later on, when we said we don't want to attend it.We were given lame excuses like this will help you. And we will give you certificates for this. And later on , we were given nothing. Course needs a lot of improvement.I guess because they doesn't favor student feedbacks. The exam are typically in june and depends upon ycmou college dosent have any role to it and its not that difficult with basic knowledge you can score well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course provides an exceptional knowledge of the fundamentals of physics and its application in various fields. The course is designed to prepare the students well. The teaching method is excellent for the teachers to use real-life examples and exciting visuals while teaching. However, the course can be improved by adding some modern physics fields such as astrophysics and quantum mechanics to the curriculum.
