What Students Say
Likes
- Pace of syllabus compared to other colleges
- The diversity of the people in this college, from varied backgrounds
- Professors, they are casual and behave very friendlike with you
Dislikes
- Mess food, it is amazing some weeks and extremely horrible another few.
- Foundation courses, kind of irrelevant to most courses offered here. It teaches you almost nothing
Course Curriculum Overview
Pace was the biggest factor, along with what was being taught. The curriculum is updated for the real life applications as far as I consider it to be, and it genuinely is decent. Improvement can only be in the foundation course where it can include subjects that aren't as irrelevant Exams every week are from 1030 to 12
Internships Opportunities
There's a push for internships every semester starting from the first, the average stipend is 20k, but some have managed to get in the LPMs. Professors advise you to have good projects and a decent resume for them to use their connections and get you an opportunity.
Fees and Financial Aid
550000L per year 30% scholarship for the first year Fees are same for every category of reserved candidates, however, they can apply for extra scholarships under some categories. There is merit cum need and also female scholarship
Campus Life
There's 2 annual fests, DamRU and Neutron. One is a cultural fest and the other is a tech fest the library has vast array of books and there's no shortage for accessibility. The technology is that you've given a macbook for joining the college. Sports and extracurricular are mandatory and are required for you to graduate to the next semester. Clubs are pretty new as this is a new university but they show promise
Hostel Facilities
You're provided a bed, a desk, a chair, a shoe rack, and a cupboard with ceiling storage witb bathroom and a shower. Meal quality can be improved a lot. Registration for hostel is done automatically and you can ask prior to stay with someone you'd prefer in the college.
Admission
SRM, VIT, Manipal, KL University, are the ones I got into, I chose this to take a risk and try something new which had potential. I got a rejection letter from BITS Pilani because I couldn't qualify for their campus. The eligibility process for my college is pretty simple, you take an exam called the Nsat and then an interview
Faculty
There's an influx of faculty and all of them are well qualified. They are very friendly and are available in campus after classes. There's an exam every week which isn't that hard but all of them combined is worth 20% of your grade
Night Life
Gym is okay, cafeteria has decent options to buy food from College goes 24x7 but is having a curfew for a while due to incidences. Hostel is open all the time, campus closes at 11-1130. Locality is not that safe as it's haryana, however there's cool dhabas nearby
