Course Curriculum Overview

5

As said before the relevance of the course in todays industry is very much in pace with the current industry. They prepare us by giving us projects which are very much a problem in the real world, cooking up websites, hackathons, dealing with people etc. The course could definitely use some work on the web development area, and the take which they opt to achieve the learning process, instead of just directly coding and trying to understand it.The frequency of exams in the college is very often which happens every week, they have a huge variety in terms of difficulty starting from easy to hard.

Placement Experience

5

Since this is a new college the 2nd years being the most senior batch in the college. not really sure about the placements but in terms of internships, most of the second years are doing an internship right now with some students getting an internship of 20L for 6 months etc. My plans after getting a degree is to try and fund my startup or work in one where I can make the most of my intial days in a company, giving me the hard skills for the coming future.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is an Intial seat blocking fee of 50000rs.(Applicable only for the first semester) There is a refundable Fee of 50000rs.(Applicable only for the first semester) An administration and Technology fee for 50000rs.(Applicable only for the first year) The tuition fee comes up to 160000rs. The mess and hostel fees comes to 120000rs. All this addes up to 380000rs for a semester. In the semesters 5th and 8th there is no mess and hostel feels because of mandatory internships. The rest of the fees remains the same for the entirety of the 4 years.

Campus Life

5

Although the weekdays are very hectic, the weekends are very relaxing and we can either work on our projects or go out to Delhi which is roughly 40km away. We have a library on campus which is open till 11 on weekdays and closed on sundays for studying and getting books. Every student gets the latest macBook pro to do their college work which can be totally personalised and also be taken with after the 4 years are done. We also have a website for all our assignments ,so none of our hw or assignments or even exam is done on paper except for the midsems and endsems on maths which is is pen and paper. We have a wide range of sports available here starting from tennis, basketball , squash, gym etc We have clubs like E-cell,Dev clubs, finanza etc for extracurricular clubs Dance, Music, Arts are available too.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel faculty are very good, you can get your room cleaned at any time till 5pm,give laundry till 6 in the evening. The mess in the college is pure vegetarian, and the quality of the food is very good as well. As for the registration of the hostel, you sign a documetn and the room and keys are assigned to you along with a roomate. The hostel is not the cheapest but the quality of the rooms washroom is very well maintained being cleaned every day. To answer the question i live in a hostel

Admission

In the first i had applied to colleges like PES , VIT, Manipal, BITS, and bunch of private colleges in Bengaluru. But when i was giving the entrance exams for all this. But around January of 2024, I came across Newton School of Technology on youtube, and as someone who loves computer science, I instantly fell in love with the course because of how relevant it is to the industry. In the other colleges they have subjects like physics and chemistry, but NST does not have any of the subjects, we directly dived into coding making it much better for students to start early. I did have a lot of rejections from other college like bits, PES. I did not make it there because I was weak in chemistry and maths in the JEE standard. To talk about the admission process of the college. You first take an online exam and once you pass that you take an in person one-one interview which will determine if you got in or not. You also receive scholarships. Im not really sure about the cutoffs but you have to get roughly 6 out of 10 in the watered down marks.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio is roughly 1:70. The faculties are roughly 7 to 8 years older than the students on an average making them very approachable and easy to talk to. Some of my favorate professors are Mr.Gladden,Mr.Anand Mittal, and Mr.Piyush. Mr.Piyush and Mr.Anand Mittal handle maths and their take on understand logic makes the class very interesting. As for Mr.Gladden, he handles DSA(python), the way he visualises the code and logic to the students makes it very easy to understand. We have an exam every week, having 3 subjects Maths WAP(Web Application Programming) which includes javascript and web development skills, and finally DSA(data structures and algorythms). And these subjects alternate every week giving us 2 mocks of each subject in a semester. The difficulties of the exams are definitely not easy and requires a lot of practice.Roughly 60 percent clear the exams. The pattern of the exam is 10-20mcqs and 5-8 coding questions depending on the weightage of the exam. In terms of relevance, the course is very much targetted towards the industry, from students cracking GSOC and hackathons every now and then making it a very Computer Science benefitting environment

Interview Experience

5

As for Interview questions we have maths, and logical reasoning. If you can code they might ask you some coding questions along with logic as well. The test contains 3 subjects, Math, logical reasoning and English which lasted for 2 hours and had 80 questions with negative marking. The college itself provides 2 mock papers which you can practice with to pass the main exam.

Night Life

5

The campus closes at 11.You can find students in the chai adda, cafe coffee day relaxing or getting something to eat. The mess timings are 7-10 for breakfast, 12-3 for lunch, 5-6 for snacks, 7-9 for dinner.

Other Applied Colleges

VIT | Btech CS&AI

Because of the course structure which is very old fashioned and not the most opt course to match the pace of the current world in Computer Science.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific Aspects That Influenced the Decision For students choosing a professional or certificate course, the curriculum usually becomes the deciding factor based on three key pillars: Job-Oriented Specific Skills: The primary influence is the curriculum's direct focus on market-based, job-ready skills (e.g., Python, Data Science, Digital Marketing tools). Unlike a traditional degree, the appeal is that every module must be immediately applicable to a job. Portfolio Development: Students are heavily influenced by modules that are project-based or require them to build a portfolio (like a website, a code repository, or a marketing plan). The curriculum must be designed to result in tangible work that can be shown to employers. Industry Certification Alignment: If the course prepares students for an external, recognized industry certificate (like CCNA, MCP, or Google/Meta certificates), the curriculum's strict adherence to that certification standard is a major influence. 2. Preparation for Real-World Applications The curriculum of a successful short-term course is designed to excel specifically in preparing students for real-world applications. Curriculum Improvements Mandatory Soft Skills Integration: While technical skills are a focus, the curriculum should mandate dedicated modules on non-technical, yet critical, job skills like: Professional Communication and Email Etiquette Team Collaboration and Project Management (Agile/Scrum basics) Interview Preparation and Mock Interviews Industry Feedback Loop: Establish a more frequent and formal system to update the curriculum based on current industry demands, possibly involving an advisory board of employers or recent alumni.

College placements have improved over the years and this year 24-25 was really good for the placements . Students become eligible for the placements from the 6th semester onwards for Engineering and for other courses from their Final year . This year the highest package was 50LPA given by Amazon to one of our student and the average package was 4.5 LPA and the lowest package was 3.1 LPA . Many companies visited this year and still placements are going on around 80 percent students got placed. I am also looking towards campus placement otherwise I would go for MBA from Abroad.
