Remarks

Our college still has a vast scope to improve upon certain aspects. Giving the students proper placements acts as a catalyst to boost their career. This, a proper placement cell would be really helpful. Also, a more participative environment to all the students equally would enhance their confidence. Our college has a systematic library and internet access within the library for us to refer to.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is expansive and contains detailed explanation of India's relations with other nations in the world arena. It also gives an insight into how Indian parliament works. The course appeared to be useful.

Internships Opportunities

Our college holds regular seminars providing us students with various social entrepreneurship ventures and opportunities to intern and get adequate internship experience. However, they are primarily tenured after college hours.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placement cell of our college is not an active one. This is one thing which needs to be improved to provide the students with job opportunities to accelerate their careers. Thus, more work needs to go behind a proper system of placement.

College Events

5

Since it is a convent college, we celebrate Easter and Christmas through various plays organised by the dramatics society of our college. We have an annual fest - Samagam, in which several reputed colleges of Kolkata participate. To enhance consciousness of the environment and equality of the gender, we celebrate earth, water, air day and International women's Day as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible with the help of scholarships being provided to the students. Thus, it is accessible to all classes of the society. It is not expensive, but rather, it is suitable to all pockets of the society.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college provides scholarships to the students belonging to the scheduled castes and tribes and even to some Christian students. It also provides scholarships to those students who have registered for scholarships under the Kanyashri programme of the state.

Campus Life

3.5

We have an a ground provided for badminton and throw ball. We also have a basket ball ground in the school premises attached to the college. The college has 20 societies, each excelling in their respective fields. The computer lab and the Lab for mass communication and journalism have operational computers.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel facilities are appropriate for girls. The washrooms could be better. The rooms are airy and have proper ventilation. Each room is shared by two girls and has proper security and it is situated near the college.

Alumni/Alumna

Our seniors are really helpful. We have many extracurricular societies in our college which are headed by our seniors and every year, a new council is elected. They are able leaders who always guide us and prompt us to participate more.

Exam Structure

Since Loreto College is under the Calcutta University, we have selections and finals. The number of papers keep on increasing from the first year. Our system is based on answering short and long questions. However, the system is changing with the current first years pursuing the semester system.

Admission

I had filled a form for political science and my name appeared on the merit list based on the marks obtained in classes 10, 11 and 12. It was followed by an interview conducted by the faculty of the said department, followed by an interview with the Principal of the college.

Faculty

5

The faculty of the college is nothing short of brilliant. Our department was headed by four teachers teaching different parts of the syllabus. They were not only cooperative with us, but led us throughout the way. They were supportive of our ideas to initiate different workshops and simulations in the department.

I want to know bengali literature and all type of poems and proses that's why I choose B.a. in bengali literature. According to me, my course helps me in doing Masters in Bengali. From the point of view of improvements, I feel that digital classes can be conducted in the class by leaving the theory classes. Mere collage The exam level is basically hard and exams are conducted twice a year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always wanted to persue English as a career. I love studying English but not a big fan of the new curriculum by NEP that includes a lot pf irrelevant papers. The semesters are not consistent. Odd semesters usually have a lot of time like 6-8 months but even semesters barely consist of 2-3 months.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We were held a class for upto 1hrs, thus we had 4 class a day. Sometimes it is boaring sometimes it becomes striking, it depends on the mood. It is to say little knowledge is a dangerous thing, if you don't read you cannot pass the semester examination. Although it will provide you a second chance. But with change of syllabus the exam pattern also change. You need to attain a total percentage of 75(%) to maintain you honours subject otherwise you would be regarded as programme course student.
