I like that we have dominos and barista inside the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose to pursue btech in mechanical engineering as this college tops in practical and theoretical learning. They also teach us the reality of working in industrial fields and provide professional coaching.

Class Size: 98Course Fees: INR 126000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The average fee per person is 2 lakh per year which includes 2 semesters. Students whose annual income is below 5 lakhs pay less than average according to their affordability. Many scholarships are offered by the college and fundraisers based on various criterion.

There are many fests every year, organised by each department in their own way. However, Concetto and Srijan are the main technical and cultural fests of this college. All the clubs run actively, enhancing co curricular activities.

This year the college turns 100, marking a centenary. With 99.9 percent placement and internship opportunities, it made a mark in the top 10 iits of the country according to nirf rankings 2024. I qualified for the admission process through jee advanced examination.

Faculty

The faculties of this college have years of expertise in their fields, guiding the students onto the right path. Every semester has a mid semester examination and an end semester examination which do justice to the students.

Night Life

There are separate gyms for men and women, as well as professional fitness trainers. The state's biggest mall is just a walk away. With hotels, malls and food courts situated all around, there is no shortage of necessities.

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are eligible for placement. Name of the company I forgot but nvidia amazon comes each year and take some students Paypal offered 4 students 28 lpa and Swiggy gave 2 students 35 lpa Nvidia gave 2 students 25 lpa Highest package data is not out as of now Avg is good this year I guess it's was 12-13 lpa Percentage is I guess reality 60/150

Raw and real side of NIT JSR

Placement Experience:

One of the major advantage of my college is it's placement percentage and average package. For my branch placement percentage is our 80% and average package of my branch is 16.5 lpa this year. Highest package last year was of 1.44 crore from a company rubirik. I plan to work in a semiconductor manufacturing company like Texas instruments and qualcomm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the course curriculum decent because it cover the basic engineering concepts that made me choose this course and it prepare us okay for real-world or higher study, but still more practical work and updated teaching method needed, and exams come mostly every semester with some internals which are moderate tough but manageable with regular study. There are some teachers who teach very well and have good teaching methods.

A Real Student Experience at DEC

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course curriculum is okay and the basics are covered well, which is one reason I choose this branch, but some subjects feel outdated and not fully connected to real industry work. It prepare us for further studies more than practical jobs. Exams come every semester with internals in between, difficulty is moderate but few papers become tricky. I think more practical topics, updated labs and better teaching methods will make the curriculum more useful...

A Comprehensive Journey

Placement Experience:

One of my colleges best features is its placements program, which offers fantastic chances for students to launch their carrers. In the fifth and sixth semesters, students are prepared with aptitude training sessions, group discussions, and resume construction. About 85% of qualified pupils were placed during the previoes school year. Compared to core engieering fields, placements rates were marginally higher in IT branches.

All You need to know about IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

As this is an IIT, To get admission here Firstly You have to take the JEE mains exam. At our time there used to be 4 rounds of the JEE Mains exam and Your maximum percentile among all 4 would be considered for a cutoff It was around 90% and to be eligible for give JEE advance Exam. The JEE advance exam happened in July, and its results were also released in August. After Qualifying JEE Advanced exam too you have to go through JOSSA counselling. In JOSSA counselling you have to give your list of colleges priority wise and you will be allotted college based on your AIR. After JOSSA counseling of 6 rounds, you will be allotted a college and then you will receive an offer letter from a college. For me, at IIT Dhanbad after taking admission firstly we were introduced to college through an orientation session with our respected director. After this we were called to campus for pre-registration for our course there we had to submit our documents and verify our identity. That's it !!...Read More
