Course Curriculum Overview

3

For my medical field i feel some subjects are unnecessary in my view point like the community medicines. I feel anatomy weightage should be more compared to buochemistrand physiology. I would like them to improve the chapters and remove chalters that are unnecessary so that we medical students can concentrate on whats inportant rather than studying everything and stuffing our brain.

Internships Opportunities

3

I still now am sure how internships work. But i heard it will be tough but gives experience to the original medical atmospheree. The internship will be in the nearby RGGGH hospital for about half a year.

Fees and Financial Aid

College fees was about 20,000 and hostel fees at the start was 30,000 and monthly mess fees would be around 3000. Scholarship was based on all India quota also I guess. And books and others round upto 6000 each person.

Campus Life

4

Sports has not yet been allowed for us freshers due to ragging issues. Im currently in fashion parade club and for now i seem to like it and hope it will work out. Fests are mostly 3-4 a year like annually one event and small other fests days will be there.

Hostel Facilities

3

Room has study desks for 3 persons though four persons are stating in one room. Meal quaity is good and extras and ice creams are kept mostly all the time. Registartion process is good but clear cut instruction on the meal reduction criteria were not given so it was rough during starting months.

Admission

My top choice was JIPMER but couldn't get into because of my rank issues. But compared to other AIIMS institutions I chose MMC as it's nearer to my house and chennai is a well developed place to spend my 5 years of college

Faculty

2

Faculty would be more than students as post graduates are also there. Some facultites are good to communicate with whereas others would be too oriented on our discipline and we dint mingle that much with them.

Night Life

3

Gym, library and reading hall are not yet allowed for fresgers. And curfew is around 8 pm which is ok for us and from second year it will till 10pm which is quite nice. But college doesnt have that much hangout areas just a common building with 6 floors and teo hostels which is a disappointment compared to other colleges

Other Applied Colleges

Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research - [JIPMER] | Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Course Curriculum Overview:

It deals with patient care and clinical diagnosis along with hands on training the influenced my decision to take up this course. Through ward postings, history taking and case discussion it prepares me well for my PG exams and further future pursuits. Skill based learning should be emphasised more along with small group teaching. Sometimes the close spacing of exams can be very stressful. Difficulty level is appropriate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.

Placement Experience:

The students in their internship will get around 35000 per month excluding their mess fees, they have the option to opt out of the mess. And once they finish their internship they had to do two years bond in places where the colleges allot them and the salary for those two years will be decided by the place the person goes and itll be definitely more than what they get during internship.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college strictly follows NMC rules and which is a very good thing as it helps us prepare for both theory and practical as theory give u the vast knowledge and practical allows us to imply what we learnt and also after the new rules of introducing histology we can also apply the idea of more creativity in a field a lot of creativity is yet to be unfolded they also cover important aspects through regular workshops and educate us with guest lectures from other colleges the important improvement which should be done is having the patience to teach a. Crowd of 250 which teachers should undergo special 2-3 classes to make sure they know what they teach is being reached out to everyone the timing of exam and everything is on time theh give us enough time to prepare and get ready
