Course Curriculum Overview

3

Infrastructure of Radiology Department was very nice and the opportunity of learning is great Curriculum allows the students for practical from 1st year, after the theory all the students have to attend clinical posting from 1st year which gives better opportunity for practical knowledge. One subject should be taught by only one teacher, but they prepare roaster topic wise which sometimes becomes difficult to understand. Frequency of exams is 3 in a year, 2 internal exams and 1 external. The level of difficulty is moderate but the examiners who come for viva are from kgmu or rml so level of viva is high.

Internships Opportunities

3

Sgpgi itself gives insternship and there is no stipend paid to the students, the duration of internship is 1 year and timing is from 9am to 5 pm. In radiology you can get hands on ct scan, mri, dsa, x-ray, Mammography, Flouroscopy.

Fees and Financial Aid

In first year i have paid 73800 in two installments. Then in 2nd year i paid 58300 in two installments. Then in 3rd year i paid 59400 in two installments. All categories have to pay the same amount. Scholarship for general category is around 35000 per year by the up government and amount keep changing according to categories.

Campus Life

3

Only foundation day is organised and lots of conference will also be organised, annual sports days and that's it. Library has a vast range of books for different subject, reading is also very huge and peaceful. An annual sports day is organised by the college. No social groups exist.

Admission

I applied in era medical university and paid the fee as well but then i got selected in sgpgi, i chose this college because it holds a good ranking in all over india. I had applied to only 2 colleges (era university and SGPGIMS) and got selected in both of them You will have to appear in the enterance exam held by up government and you will get the admission on the basis of your merit. Eligibility is 12th passes from science PCB , cutoff is 50% in entrance exam.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ration is very good 1 teacher on 10 student in every departmental classes while in common classes we get 1 teacher on 40 students Dr. Zafar Neyaz was the best faculty he was my course coordinator also, he always conducted everything with a proper planning All the faculty members were supportive During my curriculum it was a yearly programme means 1 final exam in the end of year and 2 internal exams. But now they have switched to semester system. Around 1 to 2 students suffer from back in the subjects or failed.

Night Life

5

One gym , many different cafeterias are there, central library. 2 girl's hostel and one boy's hostel and the last entry time is 9pm Girl's hostel and boy's hostel having last entry time at 9 pm. Locality is very much safe and there is a lake inside the campus and parks and a bird scantuary inside the campus and there are lots of famous points in lucknow to hang out

Course Curriculum Overview:

Job opportunities is so high after completion of the course. Curriculum strongly focuses on skill development of the students that will help them to achieve different milestones. There should be less no. of assignment in the curriculum and teaching method should be more interactive. There are 2 mid term exams and 1 semester exam in every 6 months. Exams are not that difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a medical course so yaa i wanted to learn about human so opted for it .It's alike MBBS but a bit easy than that .we have subject specialities like Medical surgical ,Obs gynae,Pediatrics ,Community etc like mbbs only but we need to learn them in duration of 3.5 yrs then we have internship of 6 months. Curriculum is maintained but need to be more realistic as some things are outdated. The subjects we learn are patient centred only as we have to be there for them ,provide care to them and treat them .everthing we read in classes we apply and co relate in our clinical.postings for better learning and experience

Course Curriculum Overview:

Choosing this course was my own decision but after joining it helped me to indulge more in it. It prepares us to face many major and minor critical conditions regarding human beings. Teaching method is usually based on faculty we get. But ours is the best and they examine us in every one month on the basis of some lengthy exams and some shorts exminations.
