Course Curriculum Overview

4

First and second sem cources are common for all branches. Second year sections are divided according to the branches. I found no difference between the computer science curriculum of almost all IITs. So I had equal priorities in terms of curriculum. Exams are conducted twice a semester and they won't actually be too hard unless the professor is crazy. But that generally won't happen.

Internships Opportunities

4

I have very less knowledge about these internships. But I have a close 4th year senior who used to tell about these. So he didn't mention any companies but he told internships are optional and there are internships for even 2nd year students. They provide extra credit and include in CR for extra attention during job interview or campus selection.

Placement Experience

4

Generally placements here start from the end of third year. That will go on till the fourth year.Amazon, google often visit for placements. Other companies like wipro, Federal also visit. Highest package of 2024 was 52 LPA. Overall highest package was about 60 LPA. In CSE around 96%studentes got placed and overall 89% students applied for placements have placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Generally open category students will have fee 100000 INR tution fee, 19000 INR institute fee and 18000 INR of mess fee ,per semester. For students with 100000 to 300000 annual income, tution fee is 33333 INR and rest same. For students with less than 100000 income or SC or ST or PWD tution fee is nil. They just have to pay mess and institute fee. Other scolarships options are also available. If we opt for those this fee remission is not valid.

Campus Life

5

There are many clubs or societies, each having their own speciality and style. We have NSS NSO and NCC as extracurricular activities which are included in grading. NSO refer to sports in which every student must select any one game or sport and get trained. This is actually a very good step. The equipment is enough but they are increasing gradually.Earluer there were 3 annual fests but due to some reasons from 2024 batch there is only one fest and it is of 5 days. Many events will be conducted in between. The GC (general championship) are more important and they are programmes or competition between branches among the college itself. Few tale it as prestige and few enjoy but overall that one month will be so entertaining.

Hostel Facilities

5

A cupboard table cot and chair are provided in the room. Each room has a balcony and a window. Washrooms are combined not individual. Washing machine rooms are there in every floor. 3 lifts for every block of hostel. RHR first year hostel has two blocks one for btech and other for mtech and phd. BHR for third and fourth year and of two blocks. MHR is of one block and there 2nd year btech students stay. Mess is very good but aferr few days it gets really boring. There are canteens and restuarants of reasonable prices. Hostel rooms are randomly given by chits picking. View from hostels is whole other level expirence.

Admission

I got a above decent score in jee mains and even advanced. I had to choose between nit suratkal , nit Trichy and IIT BHUBANESWAR. So I asked my cousins, lecturers and many people. finnally for a IIT tag I came here. Other reason was that CSE curriculum was same in almost all IIT and NITs.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio may be almost 1:10. Most of which are telugu and bengali people. As we hear bad about professors, their bad attitude towards students during internals... I found nothing sort of things over here. Math and computer science faculties are best here. Few professors are generally called rude for reducing grade for proxies etc. but those should be done. There is a mid and end sem for every semester. Mid is 30 percentage weightage and end is 50 rest is attendence and weekly assignments. Lab exams are also conducted both in mid and end sem.

Interview Experience

4

No interview for admission. There are actually interviews to join societies and clubs. Written test is also not there. Just jee advanced ranks are a category. The people around the opening and closing ranks of last year had applied for admission.

Night Life

5

Mess timings are breakfast 7 am to 9 30am. Lunch 12 pm to 2 pm. Snacks 5 pm to 6 30 pm. And finally diner from 8 pmto 10pm. The food is good but slowing will get bored of the repetition. A monthly special dinner is provided with extended menu. Hostel Life is very nice. Telugu people are around 60%. As I am also telugu I got lot of new friends. I even got few hindi friends so my hindi skills also improved. Hangout places are night canteen in every hostel( 6 hostels 3 boys 2 girls one married couples) and Nescafe. It is safe to roam during night unless or until you harm any dog. There are many dogs in campus which are really friendly. None of them even think of harming unless you make them to do so.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* I had chosen to do mechanical engineering because I had some bond with machines and it's designing and was also aware with the scopes of mechanical engineering. * In real world the curriculum helped me a lot and still it is helpful, currently I'm preparing for position of junior engineer and there it is quite helpful for me. * I don't think any improvement is required in the course curriculum and teaching methods as everything was good at its place and it's also the responsibility of us (students) to know our curriculum thoroughly and give our best. * Exams were conducted at an interval of 6 months and as said earlier exams conducted were moderate level not too difficult or easy and with studies it can be cleared easily

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
