Course Curriculum Overview

5

the course i chose is easy overall and itt does give you alot of knowledge about accounting and commerce the exams are modereate level however this course is really useful for commerce students. it does prepare you to do well in your choice of field and gives knowledge about financial management

Internships Opportunities

5

there are alot of internships oppurtuinities in our college and it is madatory to do an internship after entering 2nd year. however as a degree student the internship stipend is less or somtimes it is free just to get an experience.i have less knowledge about internships as this is my first year

Placement Experience

4

after the 5th semester the students become eligible for placements. im in 2nd semester so as of now i dont have much knowledge about the placements however ive heard from my seniors that if you do well in college and do participate in activities you have a high chance in getting placed. the avg package is 5lpa. almost 40-50% students get placed from our department every year. if i did not get placed i would continue to do professional course from icsi company secretary and i would do llb

Fees and Financial Aid

As i'm a student living outside of karnataka i have to pay some additonal fees, my yearly fees is around 1,40,000. registeration fees is 5,000. additional fee is 150000 eligibilty fee 6000 college uniform costs around 3000 and exam fee is 3000. meanwhile students living in karnataka do not have to pay any additonal fee or eligibilty fee. students from outside the county pay around 2,15,000 for bcom

Campus Life

5

there are tons of activities happening on daily basis and there is alot of oppurtunities for you to grow. there are alot of events which are compulsory for the students to participate to get exposure and ideas. there are almost more than 10 groups in our college which you can be a part of for eg ncc, women empowerment cell, writers association, music academy, dance academy and many more groups in which you can join and showcase your talent. the college gives you oppurtinites to go outside the college to other colleges and participate in events they organise. i had a recent experience of going to st josephs for a event named emporio for finance. sports is also highly active they organise tounaments atleast once a week and give chance to everyone interested. the books in the library are easily availabe and there is no hustle you can return the book after a week without any charges

Admission

I did applied for more than 20 colleges most of them were from du delhi university and i applied in christ universit yas well as st josephs university. i got accepted in 5 colleges inluding josephs, jain university and christ but in comparioson kristu was yhe best option as christ is too strict about its attendance and as a bcom student who is also pursuing professional degree like company secretary it is not possible for me to attend on a regular basis even tho kristu is also strict but still i can manage the college timings. i didnt choose du as the city is unsafe for girls my parents didd not allow me to join. i got rejected from sjcc because i did not score above 90% so i did not match their eligibilty criteria. the admisson process of our college is very simple and organised you just have t o go to their official website and click on the admissons tab. after that you need to fill the admisson form fill all the necessary details like your percentage in 10th and 12th your course perference. they take online interview you have to attend after 1 week they announce weather you got into this college or not. eligibilty is you need to score above 70% in your pu. admission experience is nice no need to take any tensions as everything is done virtually.

Faculty

4

the faculty at kristu jayanti college is pretty awesome. the relationship between students and teachers is very professional yet they are friendly as well. you can approach any faculty member without any hesitation as they are friendly and they help you out in every way possible. as im from the department of commerce i know more about them they are really strict yet really helping and kind they give useful insights that are really resourceful and they give good advices and they are really really strict about attendance and uniform. there are two exams mid term and end semester mi dterm is of 20 marks and end sem is of 80 marks

Night Life

5

the college enrty is restricted after 8pm for students. the library is also closed after 8pm. hostel gate closes at 9pm sharp. gym of the college is very affordable as you have to pay just 500 monthly which is affordable for students. for hangout people usually go outside the college there isi a restarantnamed udipi vaibhav and panoor usually young people hangout there

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
