the cirriculam at shivaik college is well structured offering a good balance of theory and practical knowledge preparing students for real world applications. i would suggest more foucs on emerging technologies. exam are frequent and some are challenging requireing in depth understanding and preperation.

i chose shivalik college over others due to its strong faculty excellent placements and modern infrastructure the admission process was smooth with eligibility based on 10+2 scores and jee main. i didnt make it to other college due to unmet cutoffs or exam score.

Faculty

the faculty to student ratio at shivalik college is balanced with approchable and supportive professors i particulary likes khuspreet sir for their teaching style and mentorship . exams are moderate in difficulty with occasional challenges in certain subjects .the course ciricullam is relevant to industry standards and most students clear exams with good preparation.

Night Life

shivalik college has a relaxed nightlife . the cafeteria and gym are open until 9 pm with hostels having a curfew students hangout on campus lawns or nearby cafes the locality is safe at night . girls are also safe in local area.

Things to Know about Uttaranchal University before admission.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are quite bad as only a few companies come to our college for placement drive . Students becomes eligible for campus placement from the 3rd year onwards . Companies visited like TCS , HCL and some other not much popular companies visited but this year placement is very low . Our college also fake advertising about the placement they advertise the interships also as placements. 10 to 20 percent in BTech CSE are getting only Placement. I don't know what I will do after getting degree but currently I am doing a side by side diploma from IIT Roorkee to get some extra knowledge and skill improvement for better placements.

GEU and CSE ho hand in hand!

Placement Experience:

LTI, Polaris, Deloitte, Infosys, Oracle, Nvidia and what not are there for placements here. Even the Fintech and finance companies like the Axis Bank, Shri Ram Capital Finance and all are here. Thus, placements worth 10-50 lakhs is quite possible at GEU.

Geu provides best intenrships!

Placement Experience:

In GEU placements are like such that we don't have to bother at all. We are approached by placements cell in the 5th semester and then are trained for the whole month and then university urges us to go for internships to have the required exposure and have a CV which can impress the recruiters first hand. Thus, we get placement which median as of now is 8.5 lakhs.

Placement Experience:

McKinsey, Oracle, NVIDIA, Google, TCS, Deloitte and many more come here for placements. Around 15-20 students in 2025 had placements worth over 40 lakhs and four students managed to grab placements worth 50 lakhs or more.

I choose this college of others because i wanted to continue to study in a budget friendly and well reputable college of dehradun. No i didn't get any rejection cause i dont applied in any another college. SCE is best in Dehradun

Admission criteria are different as I took admission under SC category so it was 67% cut-off for me as otherwise it was 81%. One just have to come to the college and seal the deal by filling the admission form. We are informed on call, mail and WhatsApp if our name is there in the cut-off list. I applied for Graphic Era University and I was invited too for counseling but at the same time I was getting confirmed admissions here as well. 81% was the cut-off for BBA ar Shivalik College of Engineering and I had a slight more than that.
